friend1958on 07/11/2012 13:54The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I was travelling with my mother in mid-80's who had a bit of health issues. They were very helpful and accommodating and made our stay comfortable. They upgraded our room to larger room. The only downside is the location as it is about 10 minutes by cab. Food was excellent. Often Japanese inn food is quite salty but their food was very flavourful and not salty at all. I enjoyed both indoor and outdoor hot spring pools.
Good Japanese ryokan experience
sweetrizon 09/10/2012 12:35This small ryokan has great authentic Japanese food and impeccable service. Most of the staff speak English and they serve the dinner and breakfast in the room, make and put away the bed. The maid showed how to wear the yakata properly. The room is very spacious room, about 3 times the room i stayed at Toyoko Inn, for the low price. It also beats the ryokan I stayed in Kyoto two years ago. This hotel has indoor and outdoor hot spring pools that is very relaxing. Highly recommended!
It doesn't have internet. This onsen town has typical curvy long-winding roads that is confusing so I'd recommend to get to the hotel by taxi which takes 5~10 minutes from JR Atami station. Enjoy!
