Once you get to the Hotel, the area makes you start to think.
But it's very convenient, The metro is in walking distance and takes you direct to the Gaslamp quarter.If you have a car, go down H-Street till broadway and swing a right, there are good restaurants and cafés. There is a Mall very close by, also with restaurants.
The rooms are very small but the bathroom is very spacey. The room maid clean up very well!
There is a little breakfast room where they serve bacon, potatoes, scrambled eggs, toast, bagels, fruit and yoghurt,tea and coffee. The Lady there is very friendly!
Whenever you saw a staff member they all were very friendly and helpful! The reception staff was outstanding nice, I goofed up my booking and they helped me with a lot of patience and very friendly.
Its a great HUB for a 2 week vacation. Imperial Beach, old town San Diego , the outlet mall Las Americas etc. is not that far away and you still have a quiet place to rest.

While working in the Chula Vista area, we came across this boutique. It was the first boutique style I stayed in. I know that these types of hotels are starting to pop up so I wanted to give it a try.
The Good -
Private Parking with some security
Near the interstate and mall area so there are places to eat
For what it is, the renovation was decent and decent rooms
Price was decent for what you get
The Not so Good -
I don't love rooms that you enter from the outside. Never have and never will. Something about
Though the rooms were well renovated, you could tell that it was from an old building.
The breakfast area was small and hot. Good food but if too many people decided to eat, it would be overcrowded quick.

Very clean rooms, everything renovated. No smoking no pets ( for me that is an advantage). Very friendly staff. Nice location with quick access to the highway. Reasonable price too. I would use it in the future if I repeated the visit to San Diego.

This motel is situated in one of the most ugly areas I have seen in a small city. You do not want to be outside after a certain time. There are junkies everywhere and bums, not to mention prostitutes that hang out across the street at the Carl's Jr and Tacos El Gordo. Its also right next to a dirty trolley station, which does not help this motel seem any better. Management is pretty much non-existant, so if you have a problem, the only response you'll get is from reception, which is a shrug and a "deal with it" attitude. Also, be warned. There is a surprise whopping $100 fee card hold when you check in. Many booking sites do NOT advertise this, and I was not informed by the hotel itself when I called about my reservation. However upon entering into the hotel, they suddenly tell you to pay up. A hold fee that large is absurd for a cheap motel, which only tells me what kind of people stay there to make them pay a large hold fee. If you cannot pay the hold fee and you were not told about it, they upfront inform you that they indeed told you about it and call you a liar. And no, they will not offer you a refund of any sort.
The rooms themselves are fine, however there are poor choices they made within room structure. For one, the bathroom wall and door are see through so not only do you get to watch someone use the bathroom, but if you are asleep, you get a rude awakening from the bright light coming from the bathroom. Another thing is that the walls are so cheaply made, you can hear the person next door coughing or snoring. You can also hear people walking above you, and its really annoying to hear at 2 in the morning. There's free breakfast included, however if you are claustrophobic, I would suggest eating out somewhere. The "dining" area is ridiculously small (about the size of a regular home kitchen) and you are forced into that small space, surrounded by glass wall, like fish in a tank. Tables are almost on top of one another, and you are pretty much back to back with your neighbor. The serving area is literally a small counter section of the kitchenette, and its a cluster of people trying to get their hands on food. Definitely not worth the money, and I would rather pay the same amount I did, but stay in a real hotel in a nicer and safer area of San Diego.

The rooms are really cozy, the beds are comfortable, excellent location, the breakfast provided is really good and the staff is really friendly... Elva from the front desk is super friendly and helpful :)
