Nice small town hotel
LondonE7on 07/11/2017 01:11This is a family run hotel in the small tourist town of Olympia. The wife speaks some English, the husband better. The hotel is next to the big church a block from where the bus lets off from Pyrgos. Family is friendly, kids hang out in lobby and will help, also maps provided to get to sights.
Room is nice with wood shutters and sliding door to private terrace. The hotel is only two floors so dont expect great views. Wifi was weak in the room, I had to goto the lobby where the signal on a different modem was stronger.
Shower was good but most hotels in Greece have no hook to hang for a standing shower. Water was ice early in the morning. Also a lack of plugs in the room.
Overall a good stay if you are just doing an overnight to the Olympia ruins. I had to leave early so missed breakfast.
Average hotel for an overnight
Cati Son 17/10/2017 19:39The room was acceptable, though a little old fashioned. No lift available, so take it into account if you’re disabled and ask for a room on the ground floor.
Quite acceptable if you’re only planning to stay for one night on your way to somewhere else.
The staff is correct, just friendly.
A wonderful discovery!
Julie Pon 07/10/2017 08:14We arrived at Olympia from Epidaurus and the journey had been very long and exhausting. We found Hotel Hercules in the early evening and received a very warm welcome from our host. Throughout our stay, everything we needed was just perfect and our room was comfortable and clean. Our stay for two nights was excellent..and we were delighted to speak to our host of the Ancient Sites, the economy of the town and future hopes for personal prosperity and that of the country.Greece has given the world so much and deserves great respect. We arrived tired and hungry as' strangers' and visitors..and after only 2 days it felt as though we were departing as friends. SO many thanks ...we will return one day and stay longer. We shall follow the website for news.Keep the torch flame burning, Hotel Hercules!
Nice
Federica2505on 06/09/2017 16:42The room was clean and close to resturants, bars. It is also near to the archeological site. The staff was kind and gave us all the informations. Wifi and a/r worked well.
There isn't a fridge in the room, but it is not a real problem
Greek Hospitality to the Max
pgtravelcaseyon 25/06/2017 07:51I wish we could've stayed at this hotel for a week. We were greeted by the owner and he provided a room for the entire family. They were even bunkbeds for the kids which they loved. Everything was extraordinarily clean and I must say it's the most comfortable bed that I slept in for my entire European vacation, and that includes consideration of Hilton Paris and Hampton in Waterloo, England!
Everything was comfortable and clean!! I was pleasantly surprised because the property was pretty cheap and I was worried just a bit. Towels were thick and absorbent, and actually wrapped around your entire body, you weren't thinking that you were using an oversized hand towel.
The town itself is extremely friendly and having shopped around for souvenirs in downtown Athens and at Delphi, we have found the best value for everything here!!
The experience really does come from staying in the hotel a couple of nights and just enjoying the community, the downtown area and restaurants and relaxing and soaking in this amazing location and all that it represents:-)
