Huge hotel, but has a nice relaxed atmosphere and plenty of facilities to stop it becoming crowded. It has two enormous swimming pools which are immediately adjacent to the beach. The beach can be a frustrating place to spend time unfortunately, as there are a large number of pushy locals trying to talk you in to various activities (some clearly not legal!). The hotel provide security to stop them entering the hotel grounds though, so we preferred to spend more time around the pool areas.
Incredible breakfast with just about everything you could ever want, including lots of really good local options (hoppers for breakfast were great!). The dinner options are good, too, and even has a separate seafood restaurant right by the beach which only serves fresh seafood.
Our room overlooked the beach, was perfectly equipped and of a really good size. Without doubt the best hotel we stayed in in Sri Lanka (& we stayed in five others).

We came to this hotel for a couple of days of rest and sun at the end of a two week tour of Sri Lanka. I have to admit it was my least favourite hotel. Yes there was lots of opportunity for sunbathing around the pool. The men were very attentive with keeping the grounds immaculate and bringing mattresses and towels. Also the bars were located around the grounds so drink was easy to obtain.
But despite this being a hotel designed to blend with nature, I found the stark long corridors austere and unfriendly, and very noisy. In fact they echoed any noise particularly in the early mornings.
In the restaurant there were far fewer waiters than previously and those that were in attendance were much less attentive.
And the entertainment was a mixed bag. We saw a delightful cultural show followed by a very amateurish fire show.
Positives? Lovely large rooms. The quietest air con ever. Great range of food. Lovely location on a pristine beach.

Have mixed feelings about this resort. Amazing team at the breakfast and dinner. The main cook went out of his way to offer us food that were not in thr menu. The main buffet for that night was maily chinese and we didnt want to eat chinese food in srilanka. HE WAS Very professional and asked us for food items we would like him to make for us! All the staff at the restaurant delivered 5 star experience. only if all the staff at the resort delivered similar experience. Main reception provided decent welcome. Pools were beautiful and service there was 4 star. Can't swim at this beach which is a disappointment. Cleaning staff did a great job overall. I would recommend this hotel for 2 night stay.

Attended a corporate Day-out with my family at this truly amazing hotel which has kept the uniqueness to the bit that "Heritance" concept has. Hotel has a well maintained lush greeny garden with a pond in middle at the entrance. Lobby was quite big and the most interesting catchy part of the hotel is the gigantic pool just above the lobby facing the sea with a view. It has that space for many to have their swims all over while looking at the sea next to it. Hotel has a few big inner gardens which we also occupied doing some games with the team. Rooms were up to the standard with balconies. My next favourite was the Lunch Buffet which has the finest and most delicious spread in the town. Staff was so helpful and looked into all your needs. Would recommend for a family visit and even for a corporate day-out plans with the space, quality and the superb service at this unique hotel.

I stayed in this hotel for 4th time still impressed with service, food & the atmosphere. We simply loved everything. The chef Manjula always wanted to provide what my kids wanted to eat & extend a great hospitality to all of us. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone. Further we cannot forget the help and support we always received from Mr Indika Gonawela (RM) at anytime when we are there.
