Nice and clean and tidy, kids loved the pool

Our family holiday two adults and two 7 year olds. Enjoyed the children's splash area which i think is brand new. The larger pool was decent size and kids loved that too. Plenty of sun beds in pool area. Bar was good, self service beer and soft drinks. Shame we missed the out door bar opening as queues formed at the main bar, although never waited long to be served. The entertainment was the one thing that let hotel down, was more for older guests. There was a variety of ages of people in hotel but a large amount of elderly which was no issue. Seemed a hotel thats popular for Spanish people again no issue really except the odd occasion of queue jumping. A very clean and tidy hotel in good location we had a rear room but could still see the sea and overlooked the children's area next door. A couple of days we had an unpleasant smell from the shower drain but was easily sorted by running the hot water. Food, the all inclusive package was worth it. Kids ice creams and snacks as drinks from the bar. Also from bar hot snacks, chips, pizza, burgers etc. Good selection but could pay a bit more I wanted to choose other food. The buffet/main restaurant was busy but no issue once seated, nice wine and good selection of food got a bit samey but the meat was varied. Grill and hotplate was great for eggs and pancakes for breakfast and meats and fish at night. Stir fry available afternoon an evening, one nice was a Chinese selection another with kebab and curries. If expecting chicken nuggets, we didn't see any. But again no problems for us. If want standard food burger and chips will do you find. Great free WiFi! Nice small kids games area, kids club had just started onnou last two days the animation team looks after our kids and teens did arts and crafts and face painting. I enjoyed water polo in pool and there where other activities like pool, bowling rifle shooting and competitions for the kids if wanted to join in. All in a all the four o us a a family had an enjoyable week stay. Really enjoyed the beach too. Roquetas is lovely.
Canteen Style Dining.

We where three ladies over 50 who got a deal from Dublin travel agent for a week in Hotel Best Sabinal May 13 th to May 20th 2017, €520 each for flights, checked bag 15 kg with Ryan Air, accommodation on a half board basic, breakfast and dinner, free wine and water with evening meal and a superior sea view room. The hotel has gone through a total refurbishment and the week we where there they where still putting the finishing touches to their new look. When we booked we asked for 3single beds , when we arrived in our room there was two large double beds, we did ask to be changed to a room with 3single beds but where told they do not do that as it still would be a room with a double bed and single bed, we stayed in the room which we where given as it was not a big problem for us as we where family. We where on the first floor with a large long balcony with two sun loungers and two chairs no small table, it have views over looking the pool and the sea. The room had TV, air condition , a safe and fridge no tea or coffee facilities. Free wifi through out hotel. Large out side area around pool with sun beds and a few umbrella's at the time we where there they had got a delivery of more beds and umbrella's. Breakfast in the morning was a bit like a free for all, you picked any table which was free and clean and one person who sit down to hold the table while the others went to get their breakfast. There was a good selection for breakfast of hot and cold buffet, chefs cooked eggs and pancakes fresh in front of you which there was always a long queue for this. There are tea and coffee stations around the room but then you have to go over to the top end of the buffet to get the milk, with so many guests in the dining area it is a bit of health and safety issue with guests carrying hot beverage. The evening meal you do the same but they do not have tea or coffee at this time only you bottled water and wine. We ate out on three nights as we found that eating in the dining room was like eating in a canteen, guests up and down for food, staff rushing around clearing tables, very noisy did not feel as we where having a nice relaxing meal out. During the day when we where on balcony we would go down stairs for hot water in cups to have our tea, there was a 50 p charge for each cup of hot water. There was entertainment in the evening but we never stayed in for it, bar closed at 11.30/12pm and every thing would be shut up. We may have been a week early before every thing open up in the area. We went to beach across from hotel 3 days out of the week, for the 3 sun beds with lovely thick mattress on them and umbrella it was €10 for the three of us. To hire a bike out for two hours was €6 they have a cycle lane all along the beach front which is lovely to do. Over all we would go back to hotel as it was very clean, had what we where looking for in the week, relaxing, sea views, sun, beach a few restaurants and bars. There is a Thursday market down at the main shopping centre, bus stop out side hotel take about 15 mins, fare for a single I think €1.30 not to sure but not much more then that.

"NEEDS CHANGES"

NEEDS CHANGES
Just come back from this hotel spotlessly clean pool area cleaned daily but needs more umbrellas for guests seeking the shade.
No tables for your balcony or round the poolside.
Free safety deposit boxes and wi-fi in the rooms.
We were overlooking a small fun fair at the side of the hotel but wern,t bothered by the noise (never seen as many rides crammed into such a small space).
Stayed for 14 days and bed linen only changed once.
The dining area needs sorting out milk not with cereals tea bags not near hot water machines Apricots, figs, prunes next to the hot food area.
Sometimes food only luke warm make sure you use the microwave which is tucked away behind the toaster in the corner, your meal will be cold if you sit under the air conditioning units.
Very rude chef scolding everyone if you dared to take any salad from his cooking area (needs a lesson in manners).
Coffee is much too strong use hot water from machine add small amount of coffee from table and make your own add milk if desired or warm cup of milk in microwave and add coffee.
Make sure to look out for small steps everywhere notices saying wet floor but it’s the steps their advertising really.
This hotels entertainment is Dire 3 times a week bingo in 4 languages lasting an hour which no one is interested in.
Key board players and out of tune singers mainly in Spanish.
Hardly any guests went to see the entertainment after their first night.
Highlight was the flamenco dancers if that’s your thing but the biggest cheer of the night was for an elderly lady who did an impromptu dance in the interval which just about summed it up.
Nothing for the young children at all in the way of entertainment felt really sorry for them when they had all got dressed up for the night.
Only 2 kids clubs which ran on Fridays and Saturdays way too little..
I may be wrong but it seemed as though about 15 locals used to come just to dance to the music.
Very pretty beach area but if you use the metal gates to get there make sure you look both ways when you open them or you will be mowed down by skaters, cyclists, motorized bikes or runners going at ridiculous speeds in the bike lane which zig zags all along the front for miles.
There are a couple of nice play areas on the beach for the children to play on.
One good feature of the beach is a wheel chair friendly area where you can access the beach down a ramp and enter a special shaded area also sit down shower facility when coming back.
Not enough staff are on duty for serving drinks which is a farce at times you will be frustrated in the queues which seem to favour those not on all inclusive..
Nice Corneto and ice cream Domino wafers make a change.
You have to make an order even for a free snack which again slows the queue down.
Don,t think we would return to this hotel with so many issues needing addressing these are only our views but hope they help other guests in making a choice.
Dissapointed

Stayed here with my sister in May 2017,we were booked into a superior room, I believe we were allocated a standard room, balcony overlooking road and opposite bars, noise from late night revellers, no table on balcony, could have been cleaned better, dust under beds, smelly plughole in bathroom, food only warm and staff not very friendly, nobody smiles in restaurant. .
Pleasantly surprised

Stayed for a week the end of May, nice Hotel, great location for Beach. Had a refurbished room to the front of Hotel. Would recommend a sea view room. Nice pool and no problem getting sun bed, although towels are put on very early, with people not returning until afternoon. This could be a problem in the peak season. The only disappointment was the Entertainment at night, a DJ who seemed to just like showing off. As the majority of People were elderly some appropriate music would have been nice. This would keep People in Hotel at night, rather than going out. Reception Staff helpful. Food was good , always a choice for Dinner. Chefs could be quite rude. Overall a good Holiday, and would return
