This hotel is in prime location, right off the pier near the boats that board for the Great Barrier Reef excursions. Also, I got a double bed room on the 4th floor with water views and that was quite lovely and relaxing. If I had my choice, I think I'd go a floor or two up for the same view but it was still nice. The bathroom and the room were very clean and well-maintained. The front desk was helpful (although not overly friendly) and they provided all necessary information and help. I spent an entire day sitting by the pool and that was worth doing after days of sightseeing. The pool isn't large but it was good enough for when I was there because it wasn't crowded. My only complaint about the pool area is that it's hard to get service. You have to call for service using a phone near the pool but I only got someone to pick up after I tried several times. It would be nice if there was a bar or someone always in that area who can tend to you. Also, as for the hotel, I had serious wifi issues. I was later told that they were having wifi problems through the provider but I wish they'd have mentioned this when I checked in. I needed to do some work so I picked the Hilton thinking that since it's a large hotel it will have reliable wifi. I was quite disappointed that they were having wifi problems just like a smaller hotel that I had stayed in the prior week. Hopefully it was just a one-off. Otherwise, it's very nice, clean, well-maintained hotel.

Great hotel in a great location. Definitely upgrade room o the beach view, well worth it as it's in an ideal spot. They even held my luggage while I went on a liveaboard dive boat for 3 days. Highly recommend the hotel! It isn't the most modern, but it's functional, and your in the tropics so why are in you in your room anyway?

I have stayed at Hilton Caiens several times. I enjoyed the hospitality every time. I am going to visit your Hotel this summer . See you again. the services and the food was amazing and the staff friendly

Really great service - super friendly check in with a very helpful associate. Just nice, friendly and helpful with tips.
location - sooooooo great! We had an early morning dive trip and the walk was about 3 minutes to check in. The breakfast was really good and started early enough to get us fed before hitting the seas. Close to all the nice restaurants and shops, etc.
Gym was good but could be cooler!
Great value. My only feedback: towels were a bit threadbare.

Stayed 1 night due to lack of room. Overall a decent hotel, but is older with outdoor hallways to the rooms. Lobby area was ok, (lobby and bathrooms need updating), but I found the lobby in the Doubletree down the street to be nicer.
Very good location next to main pier in Cairns for reef trips, and short walk to all the shops/restaurants.
Rooms were adequate, however would mention there is clear glass wall between bathroom and room (2 doubles room). While there is a pull down shade for privacy, I found the glass wall to bathroom a little unnessessary (traveling with a teen child). Otherwise there were no issues with room or staff, who were all friendly and accommodating, including coordinating transfer of our bags to the Doubletree while we scurried off to an excursion.
Hhonors member comments: The executive lounge was good. Had snacks (sushi and other warm appetizers) and breakfast (eggs, meats, fresh orange juice, bread, etc) and was very nice with friendly staff!!
Overall, would recommend the hotel, but users should recognize it is a little older with slightly odd configuration. With some additional updating to lobby area, retaurants, and bathrooms this is possibly a 5 star review.
