This is an excellent hotel when visiting Florence. We booked this hotel and was a little worried when reading some of the scathing reviews, but after arriving it was truly fabulous. This hotel has a beautiful modern decor in the lobby and the rooms. Excellent air conditioning in the rooms for those hot summer days. Free underground parking is easily accessed behind the hotel. On our arrival, our receptionist was extremely polite and helpful. It is best to take the #22 bus to town. You can buy the tickets for the bus (1.20 Euro )at the reception which is far cheaper than the 18 euro for a taxi. You can also make reservations for the museums there at the reception as well. Bus pickup location is a short 10 minute walk behind the hotel but a bit difficult to locate the stop. (In front of the Starhotel). There is a small mall that is a 5 minute walk that has a wonderful and large fresh food market. The rooms are spacious and have plenty of room to store luggage. Beds are really comfortable and it is very clean. The views from the entrance side are nice and if you get a balcony, it is nice to sit outside. Take care to keep the outside window closed as there are quite a few mosquitos that would love to spend the night with you. Breakfast area is very nice especially with the availability of outdoor seating. Washer and dryer available. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and would be happy to stay here again.

Bar: The bar in this hotel is nice, and they provide some nice snacks for free in there (small sandwiches left on the bar). The bar staff are friendly.
Rooms: Unimpressive.
- Despite knowing that mosquitos are an issue in the hotel, they make you ask for a plug in at reception, rather than supplying it in all rooms. Get one as soon as you check in, or expect to be bitten.
- We were in a non smoking room, but it was opposite smoking ones (I wasn't actually aware that they still had smoking rooms in Europe). The corridor stank, and the chambermaids left our door open when cleaning, so our room also sometimes stank.
Restaurant: Absolutely appalling
- Poor food in a room completely lacking atmosphere. Caesar salad was edible, but the Mobley Burger was dry as a bone, tough as old boots, and one of the worst burgers my boyfriend has ever had.
- Ordered room service on our second night because we felt so depressed at the idea of eating in the restaurant again. I had an absolutely vile frozen pizza.
- Breakfast is a massive rip off. The staff are rude, the food was left out in the open and therefore it was freezing (lovely cold scrambled eggs, anybody?). There were no staff around for a significant portion of our meal, so I had to show a man how to use the toaster.
Parking: There is a car park, which is nice, but it's not signposted, so you have to go into the hotel and have it explained to you.
Location: Don't expect to be in the thick of things
- You can reach town by bus or walking. The bus is located about ten minutes from the hotel and is reasonably priced. It's a little tricky to get to the bus stop because of the roadworks everywhere.
- You can walk into the city centre, but I wouldn't recommend it. It's 45 minutes of dodging roadworks and trying to follow diversion signs.
- Nearby there is a small shopping centre, which is handy for buying food once you've tasted the slop on offer from the hotel restaurant.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The hotel and rooms were very clean. The breakfast was very good! The only downfall of this hotel is the location and transportation to downtown. The hotel does not provide a shuttle service to downtown Florence. We had to take a bus back and forth every day, which was cheap, but long. The bust ride is about 40 minutes (due to all the stops) and can get very crowded. An accurate bus schedule was not able to be provided. So we had to wait at the stop anywhere between 5-20 minutes each morning. This hotel would GREATLY benefit by providing a shuttle service to downtown/train station for its guests.

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn near the Florence Airport the night before our flight. The rooms were very comfortable and the beds were perfect. Livinia who was working on the reception desk when we arrived was extremely helpful - she was able to recommend at great restaurant near the hotel, and made the reservations for us. All of the personnel spoke very good English, which was a big help to us. We were able to get to the airport in about 10 minutes, yet we were not disturbed by airport noise during our stay.

I chose the hotel to be close to the airport for early morning flight. First room (garden) was very noisy from street and we were moved to room overlooking quiet plaza. Room fine. Stayed in three recent areas in Italy, including Rome, where hotels had fantastic soundproofing. A new Hilton couldn't do this? Cheap. Area outside hotel new but starting to ruundown. No restaurant in hotel and could only fine chain American within walking distance. On the plus side--excellent staff.
