We stayed her while on a Globus tour. The facility was fine and a good vibe in the lobby.
However there was no elevator and the bellstaff delivered our luggage to another room on another floor. My husband ended up dragging the luggage up a flight of stairs himself.
When we returned to our room after dinner we found other items laying by our door in the hall which did not belong to us.
The room was fine but nothing special. We had a view of the roof of a shed so nothing great there either. There isn't much around for eating-- a pub across the street but not really close. So you are really stuck with the resort restaurants.

Impressive

My wife and I stayed at the Coldra Court for one night, the room was clean and comfortable, we went for a walk and used the pub across the road for a drink, then came back for a meal in the The Rib smoke house grill, the meal was perfect, could not fault it, and the two waitresses were so friendly, we live near to this hotel and our night out was a gift from our son, but now I've eaten here I will be back to use the restaurant again.

Improved

Having stayed in a refurbished room on the second floor I should revise my previous rating of the hotel. The room/suite was large and comfortable although I still remain puzzled at having the wardrobe in the bathroom.
Next phase of the upgrade needs to be the food.
Generally the hotel offers good value accommodation although out of town.

the hotel is owned by celtic manor which is great as you can use there facilities, the hotel is very nice indeed, the rooms are great didn't really see the point of upgrading in my opinion, not much walking distance from hotel, staff are great and always there to help.

On its way up

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights whilst visiting family so didn’t eat a meal in the restaurant but did order a pizza from bar which was served in appropriate time & my family enjoyed. Breakfasts were good although only choice of 3 cereal & no porridge on menu but good selection of cold meat, cheese, yoghurts & fruit. Help yourself cooked breakfast consisted of sausage, bacon, fried & scrambled egg, hash browns, tomatoes & baked beans. Brown & tomato sauce (although quite vinegary so not Heinz) so I took my own. Toast, crumpets, croissants & marmalade & jam so plenty to eat & was nice & hot. There were extra’s you could order from a menu but extra cost put me off. All staff were polite & helpful. Room comfortable no main light though only lamps so found it hard to see to read in bed so bring your own book light if that is something you like to do. Bathroom very dated & tired but clean. We were offered a revamped room for an extra £15 a night but we didn’t think it was worth it. Got a phone call to say pool improvements had run over & pool still out of order for our stay but got told we could use Celtic Manor pools & courtesy car runs twice an hour so happy with that & pool lovely & warm & clean which really enhanced our stay. We would stay again as we like to have a pool & great to be able to use all facilities at Celtic Manor. Worst point was car park which was quite a way from the entrance & up a hill when walking with your luggage as you arrive & cost us £15 for the 3 days, most hotel car parks are free for residents! The cost of the car park was pointed out at time of the booking but considering how far away it is from hotel I felt it was quite a cheek. They should offer valet parking at that price but overall the good outweighed the bad so we would stay again.
