Basic, lots of parking

The rooms are spacious and clean but not very brightly lit. The decor is basic but I liked that the beds were not attached to the floor as I have seen in other inexpensive business hotels because we were able to push the bed against the wall so that our toddler couldn't roll off.
There is sento/onsen nearby.
Over night stay at Hirata Maple Hotel

Me and my friend were passing between the two town for sight seeing. We traveled mainly by train and rely on public transportation. It was already dark by the time we arrived Unshu-Hirata station, the hotel is actually not far, only about ten minutes walk along the main road from the station. It was the first time I've ever been to this part of Japan. I felt a bit lost after got off the train, may because it was already dark by the time we got there and there weren't a lot happening around the area but as soon as I could see the hotel sign, we started to see some city lights and there're some restaurants close by and from across the street from the hotel plus there also a decent size supermarket right next door. Which was so convenient at a time. I book for a twin bed and for me it was a pretty good space room and not too tight for the two. The room was resonably clean with a good size bed, pretty mice and comfy. The bath room was actually not a bad tight space, I felt that I got a slight bigger room compare to my previous night from other town. The hotel stand on the main road and seems like it was in the village area where there're people houses all around. A nice and quiet area though. We seems to get good view out the window, the market, people houses, trains and the mountains. I actually took some shots off the window balcony and got some nice shot of the town in the evening. We had to leave early in the morning to catch the morning train, so we disn't have time to have some breafast at the dinner. We had a fairly good sleep and over all a good night stay at Hirata Maple Hotel and did tried a rameng restaurant right opposit the hotel and did some shopping at the supermarket right next door.

The hotel is too far from Izumo City and Station. It took almost 30minutes from the hotel to the station. The rooms are clean. You cannot use the phone for local calls, but just for room to room calls. Just across the street, there is a nice yakiniku restaurant!
