What People are saying

Ideal location for exploring Annapolis

JudyPL on 21/11/2017 00:14

Lovely room. I was told on the phone when I talked to Lawrence that we would be put in
a large room with three windows. The room we were given, however, was rather small and had just one window. We didn't want to go to the trouble to go back to the check-in desk and try to get the room we thought we were going to have, so we stayed put. It was fine ...I just think the hotel needs to be sure about clear communication with the reservations/front desk staff so guests are given the rooms they expected.

Plenty nice enough

Good service, clean room. If I were feeling snarky I would say that they need a new interior designer quite badly. But I'm not so I won't. Location is the best in town. Extremely quaint and close to great shopping and dining. Walked to the naval academy for a visit in about 5 minutes.

Location and Ambiance

This was a really cute hotel in the heart of Annapolis in a historic old building. Well appointed. We were on the top floor. Would suggest asking for an upper floor room when booking as the first floor rooms are right on the street.

Nowhere better in Annapolis

Historic Inns of Annapolis: Lovely spot with helpful, friendly staff, all in the midst and walking distance of sights, entertainment, food, and curiosity shopping. It could hardly have been better. You're immersed in old Annapolis.

Maryland Inn

We were able to check in early on a Monday during a non-busy week. The valet drove us from the Governor Calvert House over to the Maryland Inn in our car before parking it at the Calvert House. We never called for the car again until it was time to leave.

The location of the Maryland Inn is perfect. We were in Room 1200 on the second floor, which I understand is one of the largest rooms. It was wonderful. Other than a slight musty smell, which is to be expected in a building that old, the room was beautifully appointed and very clean. As others have said, the bathroom is very small, but very clean. There was no counter space, but I was able to lay my toiletries on the shelf next to the sink. I appreciated the extra bath towels. The only thing I never figured out was why things weren't replaced in the bathroom. I used the bathmat the first night. It was taken away and never replaced. Washcloths were never replaced. We started off with 2 wrapped plastic cups. My husband used one and left it on the sink. It was thrown away and not replaced. After he used the second one, it, too, was thrown away and not replaced. He ended up bringing up coffee cups from the lobby. This was not a crisis, just strange.

There is an unmarked door right next to Room 1200 that leads out to an upper outside porch/balcony overlooking Main Street. It was nice to sit out there and take in the view.

The coffee house under the Maryland Inn that was a Starbuck's is now called the Maryland Inn Coffee House, but it still serves Starbucks coffee.

The Treaty of Paris Restaurant attached to the inn is only open for breakfast during the week. We had a good, classic breakfast there one morning.

I will definitely return to the Maryland Inn and highly recommend it if you are looking for a great location and a step back in time.
