What People are saying

Preferred Hotel in Bolton

Writelines on 18/11/2017 15:46

I’ve stayed here a few times and the positives outweigh the negatives.
Firstly price. It was £52 on a Friday night. That represents value for money when you consider free parking (becoming increasingly rare in a town/city centre). A health club, a decent sized bar/reception area. Location (in town centre), 10 minute walk to main shopping area. Staff are also really nice.
Whilst I agree, it would benefit from upgrading (carpet in lift) and possibly some new sofas, it’s fine as a base for a couple of nights.
My main gripe with IHG properties is they don’t automatically upgrade Platinum Priority Club members. Executive rooms were clearly available on the App, I always check and screenshot after check-in. If the hotel had upgraded, I would have bought drinks in the bar and breakfast. It’s the reason I couldn’t give a 5 star review.

nice and efficient staff

I paid a bit more than i normal pay for a room i work all over the uk and stay in b and b and hotels at least 3 times a week the room was a good size with tv and tea and coffee only three milk and 4 tea so not enough it has a bath and a good shower the beds are comfortable and clean but there is dust on a lot of the sides the room is getting a bit tyed walls not clean could do with painting and the draws broken, the air con didn't work at that price i think breakfast should be included.

Rude staff

Lou I on 17/11/2017 13:38

Arrived at 8pm as part of a wedding party. Room was reserved under one persons name. When we said her name the woman on reception rolled her eyes and made a rude smirk as though there was some sort of inside joke, she then muttered ‘yes she’s reserved a lot of rooms’ right ok cool?... weird to say the least. Checked in and later found out that the hotel had tried to say there were 20 rooms reserved and all must be paid for so there was an argument between the hotel and the booking person because there was clearly only 6 reserved: they also tried to say the price had changed from £65 to £85... absolute joke especially since it was only he most important day of a couples life (wedding) upon checking out the next morning we had the same member of staff on reception who told us our room was not booked under the name of the person we had told her last night. Another member of staff clarified it was & let us check out. terrible customer service. I would 100% recommend this hotel if that woman on reception found a new job.

Very Poor

stayed for one night 4/11/17 and im glad it was only one night.
Rooms are tied and need upgrading.

We stopped on the first floor and where surrounded by kids from a trip. they where allowed to run riot slamming doors and shouting until 2.30 am. and starting again at 6 am.
i complained to the night manager who said there was nothing he could do and walked off into the back office. I will not use another holiday inn after this experience and will tell my friends of the poor response and poor attitude of the staff.

Possibly the worst attitude of any hotel staff i have dealt with.

Night in Bolton to visit friends

Sam M on 06/11/2017 13:55

Me and my partner stayed here 2 nights to visit friends. Hotel is ideally situated for Bolton town centre. We got around easy by walking or taxi. Hotel easy to find and free car park was a bonus. Paid £70 a night which I think is a little pricey when didn't include breakfast but looking around it seemed best value.

Staff were quite friendly (reception staff were a little ignorant and carried on talking whilst I waited to be seen and when I checked out the woman didn't speak at all to me). The cleaners always spoke and young woman at the bar through day on Saturday was really friendly and chatty. Bar open until 2am and drinks were reasonably priced (unlike the food).

Room was a good size and really comfortable bed. Had everything we needed there and it was clean. We didn't get any noise but in morning wall was so thin we could hear neighbours talking.

Had a good stay here and would return and recommend
