This Holiday Inn is a bit older building, with cramped, slow elevators, small rooms, and darker hallways. Bathrooms are a bit dated, but were probably updated in the past 10 years, noting the newer fixtures, but older caulking. The attached restaurant is way over-lit, and servers look tired and act lackadaisical, but the front desk has always been prompt and responsive. All-in-all, the hotel feels a bit tired in decor and the vibe from the staff.. but it feels safe, is next door to an Outback, and is middle of the road for the relatively expensive East Bay area. I'll keep coming back here because the overall value is pretty good, not because it's impressive.

We booked our room through Priceline. When we checked in I asked if we had two beds, they said 1 bed and one sofa sleeper. Okay, it was my sister and I and so one of us would sleep on the sofa sleeper. We go to our room, smallest hotel room ever. When we opened the sofa sleeper, no sheets, so I called. They brought a blanket, they had to go back and get sheets. When housekeeping returned he came in to help us make the bed because you had to turn the whole sofa sideways and block the nightstand to use the sofa sleeper! Then to the bathroom...A room for at least two people, 1 bath towel ! So I called again and they brought towels. Then the middle of the night the alarm clock (that we did not set) goes off at 5am ! We couldn't get to it because the sofa bed was blocking the nightstand! OMG !!!! I know this is an older hotel but still leaves a lot to be desired, maybe if you book with them direct you will get a better room. Could hear people walking in the hallway and in the room next door, not very soundproof...

Omg. Its was amazing... the girl on reception Jennifer... nothing was to much for her to do... they place had 1 teleohone in sitting area of room.. then there was a telephone in bathroom and a String on the bed.. it was brilliant... & very comfortable... if in a wheelchair i would definity recommed it.. thank u Jennifer...

Room had obvious water damage from bubbled wallpaper, mildew in room, door to bathroom was warped and would not close and if it does someone is need to push open from outside in. Towel rack hanging half way on wall, room was not serviced 2 nights out of the 4 we stayed. There was a party in the rented room area and the guest from that party were allowed by staff to run up and down halls and jump on the lobby furniture and play in the business computer area unsupervised and with no staff restricting any movement until as late as 2 and 3 am, when we had to be up at 5:30 am.

My colleague joked that I should not walk to my room alone. The hallway in the adjacent building was dark. As a woman who travels alone on business all the time, it is important to me that I feel safe in the hotel environment. If you are traveling with several people, go for it. The rooms are really outdated and the showered had a mind of its own. Front desk staff were nice. Breakfast was not complimentary, but choices were ok. DIdn't go to the bar. Convenient location.
