I have always been pleased when staying at a Holiday Inn Express. Staying at the one in Atmore, AL, not so much. We arrived at check in time (3pm) and were told none of the rooms were ready for check in. I found this odd and found it even more strange when I saw the cleaning staff sitting in the dining area eating popcorn that is provided for the guests. It is one thing to be behind it is another thing to be sitting and eating popcorn and not trying to make it right.
So we come back in 30 minutes and they still don't have us a room. Finally at 3:45 we get to check in.
We enter our room and the toilet doesn't flush and the sink drain won't release water. This was just the start of the trip. Maybe the casino will be more friendly.

Stopped in for one night. The room was clean and well kept. The staff was friendly and responsive. Breakfast was the typical Holiday Inn Express---so entirely adequate. This stop made for a nice break in our trip.

We stopped here to break up our trip to the beach and we are so glad we did! The staff couldn't have been nicer, especially Hellen, she made our grandson so happy when she took the time to fix him his own key card! The room and building was extremely clean and the next morning there was cleaning staff everywhere and not a one of them failed to smile and say goid morning! We will definitely stay here again! Thanks everyone, great job!

We stayed here while traveling this week. The staff was very friendly and the location was great, just off the interstate. The exterior of the hotel was very nice. The interior was older but in good condition. Overall things appeared to be clean, then I found strands of long dark hair all over one of the pillows. I swapped it for another pillow that appeared clean. The unfortunate thing is it made me wonder where the sheets really changed, was the place really as clean as it appeared. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The A/C was great and blew nice and cold in the high mid 90 heat! I did notice the sign the next morning that stated they would be renovating soon.

I had the longest day of work, hit a few bumps in the road along the day but Helen was the blessing I was waiting for. She helped me check in no problem got me the best rate I could ask for. A+++. Just about one of the kindest people I have ever met. Love this hotel, will defiantly stay here when I'm in the area again.
