What People are saying

Average Value Hotel Away from the city.

Christopher Fon 07/10/2017 05:40

The hotel has a dated look and feel inside its rooms and common areas. It is relatively clean with courteous service at the front desk and breakfast area. However, three four put this hotel towards the back of my list, 1) Its distance from Billings, 2) Priced higher than other hotels closer to city, 3) It is hidden from the street, hard to find, and 4) the dated look and small elevator doesn't add value for the price you pay. I feel this hotel is more suited for traveling workers like mid-level managers, construction/road crews, firefighters, and similar. I do not suggest this hotel for folks on vacation, weekenders, or day trippers. As an IHG member, I would not stay here unless all other IHG hotels are booked in Billings.

okay place to stay

I was slightly disappointed that there was no fridge. The room was okay but bathroom could use a touchup. (mold in the corners around tub and general areas less then clean) Breakfast bar is good and has the usual holiday inn food. The sun blocking drapes were appreciated. The bed was comfortable enough.

Alas, No Fridge

We've stayed in 12 different Holiday Inn Express hotels in the past two months. We keep going to HIE because we like have a consistent experience. Part of that experience is having a small refrigerator (and usually a microwave) in the room. But this is now the second time we've checked into a HIE that didn't have a fridge. Does it mean anything that both times were in Montana? I don't know.

Small annoyances at this location included an unbelievably loud toilet, and a smoke detector directly over the bed that had two bright flashing lights going all night long.

As always, we sincerely appreciate the complimentary breakfast and the free WiFi.

Wheelchair accessible

Our stay here was good. Wheelchair accessible room , bathroom and general areas. Friendly staff , everyone was very helpful. Very clean and comfortable room. Sam at the front desk was extremely nice and helpful!!! We missed breakfast. We didn't realize that it ended at 9:30. Usually we thought 10:00 was the end. We were able to grab some fruit , and packaged muffins.

Stay at HIE West, not here

TCMDOCon 30/07/2017 17:17

HIE West is exceptional, HIE East subpar!!

Pros: evening assistant manager gentleman
Cinnamon roles

Cons: Hard beds, tiny pillows, uncomfortable pillows, room smelled like smoke, pool ice cold, pool room dark and dreary, NO PETS ALLOWED

The long story. I couldn't remember if we last stayed at East or West. I called 800 number and asked for which hotel had bunkbeds. The assistant said neither. They were wrong, the West does. Awesome rooms. Anyhow, I booked at East based on that assistants answer and was told the room was nonrefundable. It was 6 pm so I understood. They didn't say no pets and I didn't ask. Moments after I hung up I realized I wanted the other hotel. Oh well. We went to East and I checked kef out the room. Family complained of smoke smell but since the room was nonrefundable we couldn't do anything about it except leave and loose our money.

While checking in I read the sign on the door that said no pets and a large fee if we brought our dog in. Once again, since their were no refunds, I didn't cancel. It was over 90 degrees outside so I drove around with the dog until 9om when it cooled down to 70.

The bed was hard, the pillows small, the room stunk. I thought about all the HIE commercials about having a good night sleep for an interview the next day. Glad I didn't have an interview the next day.

Also quite annoying was the alarm went off and after we unplugged it, it kept going off. My wife went to the front desk with it and was not kindly greeted by the older last receptionist. Also was told the manager would be in at 7am and she wasn't. So we put off our traveling to talk with her and she want there when we were told she would be. I did call back later just to find out she only works till 3pm. Disappointed in the management not having hours based on their customers. Most are gone by 7am.

All in all, we won't stay here again, as a HI member, we are very disappointed. Won't recommend this hotel either.
