I was in Castro Valley for a wedding in October and I stumbled upon this hotel on Tripadvisor. It was close to the wedding and I thought - why not?
By all means, book this hotel. Really good breakfast, which was "free" - thus included in my rate. The hotel was clean and the staff were all really nice. I had to wince when I looked out of the window and saw the hotel directly outside, but honestly, I never heard the traffic from the highway one time. Oh, and they provide ample pillows!!

Absolutely the best place and friendly staff you will ever meet. Everything went smoothly as we stayed there for 5 mths due to work with a group of 45 people and never once did anyone complain about the service we received. Not only in the hotel itself but loved the location and friendly people throughout the whole town.

We recently stayed at this Holiday Inn from 8/17-8/20. Our room was nice and clean. Everything was good except for the morning breakfasts were fair. They had a flat pancake machine that made terrible looking pancakes and several people had to ask for help getting it started. Why not just have one of those waffle makers instead. Also they had omelets which were terrible tasting. I would of preferred the scrambled eggs. The juice machine had to be turned on our last morning there. They did not seem to be ready at 630 am like they were supposed to be. We needed to eat early to catch our flight. We have stayed there once before about 17 yrs ago. Otherwise no problems.

We traveled to San Francisco recently for a week and after researching many hotels we decided on Castro Valley outside of San Francisco. We made a very good choice. The hotel was clean, quiet and very friendly front desk staff. It only took us about 30-40 minutes to get in to the city everyday so well worth staying outside of the busy San Francisco area. Housekeeping staff kept up with our towels (we had a 16 year old with us). Highly recommend this hotel if you are going to be in the area.

Great place to stay. I have stayed here many times while working on a large project in Hayward. Natasha at the front desk is great. She always takes good care of us. Comfortable place to come to after work. Wonderful breakfast before we head to work. It's not so bad working out of town when we stay here.
