Typical Holiday Inn Express, located on the edge of town, close to shopping areas and interstate highway. Having said that no noticeable traffic noise. Hotel room was a good size, clean. Manageress held a get to know you session in the evening where snacks and soft drinks were available. There is bar or restaurant, albeit a free buffet breakfast is available. Car parking available as is free wifi. Roads around were very busy. Restaurant next door offering good meals, I think it was called o'Charlies. One issue which I marked the hotel down for was mud around 3rd floor in the lift and around the ground floor by reception and where breakfast was served. It was evident when we went for breakfast and was still evident when we left an hour later. Staff must have noticed yet no-one cleared it up! Shame!

The hotel is in a nice location. The staff is very nice and friendly. The hotel needs to update the furniture in the room. The mattress on the bed is very old and sinks in the middle. It did not allow my wife and I to get a good night sleep. The other furniture in the room looks worn. Replacing the bed and other furniture would really improve the hotel.

Ok,I realize checking in a hotel after 10 pm,is not the smartest travel tip.However, one would think the staff would not place a valued IHG Priority Club member in a room situated right beside vending and the elevated.Now, without mentioning the horrendous mess in the hallway, I would like to mention the Dreaded Elevator.I travel frequently,and I can never remember an elevator that had such an impact on the entire property and its guests.Slow,non-existent,inconsistent does not make for a comfortable relaxed stay.If I was traveling solo,no problem walking the sets of steps.Its a different story, when you are packing a 19 month grandson and his stroller.The location of this property is great, but owners need to pick up their game,the rooms,air conditioning ,elevators and the staffing in not what is expected from seasoned travelers.

We booked a block of rooms for our daughters wedding that was held nearby at the Virginia barn wedding venue nearby. All worked out wonderfully. It was so nice to have everyone stay at the same place. It was pretty busy. When they ran out of room in the breakfast dining area, they set up a table for some family members in the bar area. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There was also a large conference while we were there. They had a cocktail area in the bar that is adjacent to the lobby. It was extremely loud. Rooms were nice and spacious.

Kim at the front desk was wonderful. She greeted us like we were family. Then a few weeks after or stay we had an issue with the billing.... she remembered us and fixed it with no problem. Thanks Kim!!
