Check in was hassle free, with polite staff. For gold members above you will get a premium WiFi which works faster than the free one.
Breakfast starts at 4am but the cooked stuff ( eggs, bacon etc only comes out at 6am). Shuttle bus that cost 3pounds per way comes every 30min and depart from bay 21 at Stansted airport.
Room is big enough for two cargo bags to fit in comfortably. Mattress however was abit soft and hot water not running very effectively. ( that sucks when it’s winter time ) but overall for the price, can’t complain at all for a transit hotel.
Good place if you are on transit.

You could pay 20 quid more and be a few minutes closer to the airport, but the Holiday Inn Express is good value for the facilities and location. Rooms are spacious with big bathrooms. Bed was slightly soft for me but perfectly comfortable and clean. Breakfast was fine and he staff polite and friendly. No complaints.
Tip: to avoid hotel food and drink prices, there is a BP service station with a Marks and Spencers food outlet attached right next door. For those on a budget, wait until 8-ish at night for reduced salads and sandwiches.
Oh and the shuttle to/from airport costs 3 GBP. DO NOT TRY TO WALK! Directions on booking.com said it was nine minutes. It was 45 dragging a case along a main road with no pavement then lugging it over a fence and through some bushes. You have been warned!

Stayed here the night before my flight to Berlin. The hotel was fine, no major issues, but nothing that you wouldn't expect. Also parked here for the duration of my time away and the car was fine and right where I left it.
Would stay again if I needed to.

Being a Holiday Inn express we were not looking for a 5* stay, but this hotel was a conflict. of feelings.
Check in was slow, (not enough staff,) but having got to the room we were pleasantly surprised. It was a little tired and in need of some tlc. but not bad and a good size... Pillows, as always, were too hard hard for us.
Not directly the hotels fault, but despite being non smoking the room had a very strong stale smoke smell and needed a deep clean.
The restaurant food was quite good, if a little disorganised, but the furniture was appalling. Chairs were very badly stained, and I looked at a few before I could bring myself to sit on one. THey should all be replaced urgently. Again, breakfast was reasonable.
I would have given a 4 rating, but the airport shuttle bus was awful. No serious luggage storage meant that on return to the UK, the bus could not take all of the queue We had to man handle our heavy bags into the coach isles over and around other peoples luggage, and luggage was piled on luggage in the isles. A poor baby in a push chair was surrounded by heavy bags (Health and safety?). With out the help of other passengers I would not have been able to access my bags again. It did however, restore my faith in the human race -but not bus drivers.
On return to the hotel I had too wait at a undermanned desk for quite a while to simply get a car park exit ticket whilst new guests were checked in.

An honest review of this hotel. I used this hotels car parking facility and room for my holiday.
I stayed in the room on my return flight.
Staff were brilliant. They were helpful, informative and went the extra mile.
I had no issue with the car parking facility.
On the return flight we got to the hotel around 5:30am. We were tired and need to be checked in quickly. The staff member on reception Anne-Marie was brilliant. She processed our check in and told us about cold and warm breakfast times. She went the extra mile and gave us an extended late check out to 2pm which was really kind of her. We went to breakfast and it was really good. Certainly the highlight of our stay with them. Compliments to their chefs.
However the room was not brilliant. The bed was wobbly and I could feel the springs which were digging into my back. I had an awkward sleep and work up with a sore back. I think the mattresses need to be improved and the beds need to be more stable.
I would not go back again to this hotel.
