We stayed here for 2 nights. The "layout" seems a little bizarre (Reception on the 1st floor, the lift was extremely slow (quicker to take the stairs) The breakfast area was extremely badly designed for such a busy hotel) Every other aspect of our stay was pretty much "Business as usuall" My biggest overall disappointment of the weekend? - The bananas! They were Green on the outside, but rotten on the inside when you peeled them - I wasted 2 or 3 before I finally gave up trying! That is rather poor from a seaside port that claims to be one of the biggest importers of Bananas in the UK? The Parking is very reasonably priced! -advertised at £2 per day? We paid just £2 for 3 days parking - not sure how that works when the advertised rate is £20 per 24 hours???? :-)

We went to Portsmouth for a shopping with my friend and it was so obvious to stay in this hotel. I've booked with my IHG account and the receptionist didn't really care about it. We've got our key, but unfortunately when we got in the room, somebody else was already there. We went back to the reception and explained the situation. So we've got a new room and a complimentary drink. The lady was very helpful at night as we requested a second duvet. Generally everything was ok except this little issue, which is not a big deal. Room was very clean and the bed was comfy. I'll book this hotel again if I want to stay in Portsmouth.

I have to visit Portsmouth once a year for work and always stay here. However, I have noticed over the years the hotel has lost its sparkle and could benefit from a refurbishment. The bedroom was tired and a little grubby- particularly the bathroom. The phone was dirty as was the toilet lid and the corridors had been filled with plaster and not painted. Breakfast is fine, if a bit limited for healthy options. Staff are friendly and the hotel has a nice feel.

Very pleasant stay. Every member of staff were excellent . Room was very clean and bed was very comfortable . with a choice of pillows Breakfast had a good menu with lots to chose from. Bar area good and prices reasonable for a hotel . Would stop here again

I stayed here for 5 nights on a work trip.
I was met by Friendly and polite staff upon check-in, every request was dealt with very quickly!
The breakfast was ok, a nice range of cereals, bread and hot breakfast available.
The location on gun wharf quays is probably the best feature, right next to a variety of bars and restaurants!
All in all, not a bad stay and would recommend!
