I have stayed at this hotel numerous times over the last year and a half and have always received top notch service. I am a spire elite member and ALWAYS get a free room upgrade without even asking. The hotel staff always goes above and beyond to ensure my stay is comfortable and very relaxing. I have recommended this hotel to my colleagues and they as well have all had great experiences. The only improvement I can give is I like to workout and lift weights and they do not have a big selection but I still manage to get in a good workout. I will be staying here again and again as I travel ALOT for my job.

Overnighted at the Holiday Inn Express San Pedro Sula twice (coming and going). Very polite and helpful front desk staff. They helped us arrange a taxi to and from the airport which was helpful expecially since we don't unfortunately speak Spanish. Taxi was $30 US and they will take credit cards if you ask. Takes about 20-25 minutes to/from the airport.
Ate a quick breakfast at the free breakfast buffet and it was decent. The menu choices are a bit different than what we are use too staying at a HIS in the US and Canada but it's nice to try the local food.
Clean well appointed guest rooms, brightly lit hallways and elevators. Beautiful lobby and nice pool area.
Not sure how safe the area around the hotel was as we didn't venture off the property but 2 shopping malls within a few minutes walk and a ton of restaurants and eateries in the area.
Would stay again if we needed a overnight stay in San Pedro Sula absolutely.

I've stayed at this Holiday in several times traveling from the US to Roatan. The hotel is nice and clean and the staff helpful. There's a nice pool and gym on site and it's within walking distance of Mall Multi Plaza and the City Mall.

I find it pricey for an old standard worn out hotel.
They gave me a standard suite at the 9th floor (the only one available), so I imagine that the street noise was not going to be a problem.
The room was clean, standard layout, two double beds, wood and carpet, two things I do not appreciate in todays hotels. All the furniture was outworn; the only modern thing was a flat TV set. The air conditioning was so old, that sounds like a railway engine all night and has only two settings, extremely cold and noisy, or just very noisy and only circling air (hot). But that is not the oldest thing at the room, the bathroom, was the worst, old rusty fixtures and dripping water shower.
They do not offer room service, nor have a night restaurant. So they have this booklet of delivery restaurants around and they tell you that if you do not want to go out, use the booklet to get food. I call to order sushi. Mistake. Worst sushi ever.
There is something special and positive about the room they gave me, it has a big window with a great view to west part of the city, you could see the mountains and the startling light of the street at night.
After dinner (not so good sushi) I was admiring the window view and suddenly started some kind of street motorcycling racing, and the starting line was exactly below my window, the sound was so loud that I couldn't hear the TV unless I raise de volume so loud it compete wit the outside race noise. Never mind it stopped about 11, then I slept like a baby.
At morning I checked the include breakfast, not worth it, went out for breackfast.
US$180 + taxes for that room felt too expensive.
Fortunately the hotel staff was very helpful, gentile and it was just a one-night stay business trip.

This is a very nice modern hotel in a good location and the complimentary continental breakfast is very good. My only complaint is that the restaurant is very good but very pricey. After eating there once, we headed across the street to eat or went to the hotel near the shopping center to eat.
