upon arrival the entire downstairs was under renovation and tore up. the check in was done on camp tables while it was fairly efficient- there was one person in front of me. There seemed to be several long term displaced families, from the receant Hurricane Harvey, in the hotel with their small dogs they were well behaved and on leashes. The room was clean and comfortable, Sammy's burgers and Brew out the back parking lot was an excellent place to get something to eat, drink, and watch a game. The breakfast was fair since everything was at best lukewarm, and there were no cold beverages to include water to drink.

Well this hotel is under renovation...we weren't aware...the whole way to our destination we told the grad baby he would be able to go to the pool...well we get there and the pool is closed...needless to say my grand baby cried himself to sleep....the whole lobby was in shambles. The person that checked us in was not friendly...I voiced my complaint to the front desk and was told a manager would contact me...well no phone call, no I'm sorry I ruined your trip, how can we make this better/right nothing!!! Well first and last time I will book here!

Our family came here for a family reunion and blocks of rooms were booked. I travel a lot, nationwide and internationally. Holiday Inn is not usually my first choice and this place met all of my expectations and more for a room and property.
2-Queen Room: plenty of electrical outlets and lights, desk for work, two chairs, comfy beds and lots of pillows, flat-screen TV, three mirrors, well stocked Kuerig-style coffee bar, mini-fridge and microwave in every room, easy A/C controls
Bathroom: Roomy, large counter and spa-type open undercouter, easy to use bath/shower, lots of towels
Breakfast: 6:30 - 9:30 weekdays and 6:30 - 10 weekends; well supplied complimentary full breakfast with eggs, meat, sausage gravy, pastries, pancakes, juices, coffee, tea, fresh fruit, milk, yogurt, cereal
Breakfast Room: open all day; large with lots of tables; fronts the pool with large windows for a nice view; couches and overstuffed chairs for relaxing and talking with large groups
Pool: about 30ft x 12ft; 0 - 5ft deep; large deck; good for families; plenty of tables, chairs and loungers; waterfall, assistance device for wheelchair using people
Fitness Center: 3 different workout equipment; weights, A/C, yoga ball, large mirror, towels; smallish but plenty of space for a dozen or so people at a time
Self-service Laundry: one washer, one dryer, table, chair
Outdoor Space: Barbeque grills and picnic tables in a parking lot cove
Parking: Large parking lot
Reception and Service: did everything we asked, including changing our rooms at check-in
Walking distance from hotel (2 minute stroll): Sammy’s Burgers & Brew - very convenient for burgers, chicken, salads, fried appetizers, shakes, beer, mixed drinks; picnic tables inside and out; plenty of TVs for watching sports; good service and reasonably priced good food; can handle large crowds; open late

We stayed on Christmas Eve and the room was nice, clean, and roomy. However the service was awful starting Christmas morning. We chose this property based on previous experiences at HI and needed the breakfast since everything is closed on that one special day of the year. FAIL on breakfast... we waited for over an hour as the attendant brought out small quantities for the 15-20 guests dining that morning. We drove back home on half empty stomachs since the larger group in the dining area managed to consume all of the hot options before we could get to the counter. Thanks for at least stocking yogurt and cereal! I emailed the property from their website to ask for the final bill and advise them of the terrible experience and nearly 2 weeks later I have not heard back. At least a "we will look into it" and an apology please? First and last time guests at this property. Hopefully this proprietor will improve the lack of service and quality of the Holiday Inn... it is the worst one I have ever stayed at.

I have stayed here before and the location is convenient, the property is clean and the service is good. The breakfast is standard hotel food. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are quiet. I have never had any issues staying here.
