Really friendly staff
If you look hard this is actually a nice building with the rooms quite well improved. Unfortunately mine had two bulbs out and when I swapped one to my side of the bed on switching it on there was an almighty flash and it blew the whole bed lights out. What bothers me was I suspect that was why they hadn’t replaced the bulb as they knew there was a fault? I may be wrong but....
Breakfast was beautifully set out and a really good spread for everyone.
However the coffee machine wasnt working so it was a flask of coffee. I can tell the staff are trying hard though.

I had the misfortune of paying £90 to stay in this hotel last night while away with work.
The hotel as you enter with its refurbished bar, restaurant and reception areas certainly hides what is lurking in your room!
My room for the night.......
- The white bed sheets were covered in mold!
- The room had not been cleaned properly, which was apparent from the dark hairs found within the moldy bedding and shower.
- The walls themselves.......yet again covered in mold behind the desk.
- The bed was a 70s throwback, a pull down double from the wall, so basically I was sleeping on a sofa bed.
I can only assume I was given a room never typically rented to paying guests!
I complained of course to reception, apparently I can have a free room upgrade next time I stay......which of course will be never!
All in all this is not the standard of a Holiday Inn, and this hotel will now win the award for the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed away in within the UK.

Just returned from a fantastic stay at the Holiday Inn, Luton South.
Warm, friendly atmosphere. food, staff, hotel superb!
I have health problems, and allergies, and was very concerned before my visit, hence my holiday coordinator emailed prior to our visit with some instructions to be carried out before our arrival date. Wow, amazing! All our instructions were carried out efficiently and very thoughtfully. This Hotel cannot do enough to make you happy! All the staff are so eager to make your stay as comfortable as they can, ensuring your visit is a happy one. Thank you so much Holiday Inn Luton, for being so kind considerate and very professional in all you do.... Amazing stay, and would highly recommend.

Good points...staff were lovely. Parking free. Looks quite grand from outside. I have lived close by for many years and thought that it looks like a good place to stay.
But.... Room smelt of very stale cigarette smoke. Room 119. End of corridor, felt like a room that should probably have been used as a large store room. Staff on reception changed my room promptly when I asked. Second room much better. Smelt fresh and was a better design.
Meals... lunch ....had to wait more than 30 mins for sandwiches and soup. " Panini, with mozzarella, sunblushed tomatoes and red peppers "was in fact ,French stick, cheddar cheese and cherry tomatoes. No decaf tea available. Salmon Fillet and Super food salad...Salad was good, but you could have re-soled your shoe with the fish which didn't even taste of salmon.
Last straw was tepid warm water out of the fiddly bath\ shower tap contraption. So...I checked out after 6 hours of a 2 night stay Not expensive, £60 per night exc food, but in fact you need to up your game if you still wish to be taken seriously in today's hospitality market.
I have been to Holiday Inn Aylesbury and others and not had this experience, so maybe this hotel is actually being run down with a view to closing.

Hotel lovely and clean but service is terrible!bar isn't manned all the time so u struggle to get served!!bar woman in rhe downstairs bar in the day didnt know what gin was!!!
Function food was good, breakfast was good!!rooms were nice just a little packed with furniture!!
