Too full and expensive but great place and it is so near the ohare airport and also fashion outlets. They charge extra for the parking per day that is not a good thing. They have room service from the restaurant.

Writing a review of a hotel at which one only sleeps may be terribly unbalanced but, for what it’s worth, this is exactly that. My wife and I had been traveling for 18 hours straight when we landed at O’Hare airport recently after a long international flight. We still had several hours drive ahead of us before we could get home but, thankfully, we had decided to spend the night at the Holiday Inn hoping only for a comfortable bed. And we got that and more! It was quite late before we checked in. The staff was welcoming, quickly assigned us a room, but then got out of our way and, completely exhausted, we headed quickly up to it. Our king-sized bed could not have been more welcome or more comfortable. All we wanted was a good night’s sleep and we got that and then some! Our room was spacious, the Inn’s bed extremely comfortable , and our heads had hardly hit the pillows before we were both sound asleep. And we slept and slept and slept undisturbed. In the morning, we were able to unhurriedly grab a quick breakfast, check out, and then, leisurely make our way home.
I would like to write about all the other amenities that the Holiday Inn might have — the award-winning Harry Carey’s Steakhouse, for instance, is located immediately next door — but in our case that is impossible. All I can say is that if our experience was typical, and I suspect it was, no-one wanting a close location to O’Hare and longing for a pleasant night’s rest, ought to look elsewhere. We’ll be back!

The Holiday Inn near O’Hare was a fine hotel. It is currently being remodeled at this time, but that didn’t interfere with the hotel stay. The hotel is a short five minute walk to the train station. The train ride is about 40 minutes to Michigan Avenue. Comfortable bed. Bar Louie in the building which was very convenient for quick meals and breakfast. Fitness room not so great - looks good, but cardio equipment was hit or miss as to whether it worked, however there is sufficient weight equipment. If you don’t mind staying outside of downtown, this is an affordable and fine hotel.
I booked the hotel via a “last minute” booking site. The first problem was that the floor we were assigned to smelled as soon as the elevator opened (don’t know if it was due to smoke or mildew or construction.). Second, for some reason the room booked was an accessible room. While I know this sounds odd, it is not particularly convenient for those not needing the special features. The room itself was nice - spacious, comfortable bed. However the bathroom, as expected includes lots of bars and a sink that is several feet from the mirror. Also, knee length coats can’t be hung on the clothes rack as they drag on the floor. I asked to be moved as we didn’t book this type of room and the floor smelled. The only other room was also accessible. Partially the confusion, partially the long drive, I wasn’t happy, but we settled for the second room. Later in the evening I stopped to ask directions to the train. It happened to be the assistant general manager, Murtuza. In addition, to directing me, he had observed my displeasure and had looked into my reservation. He apologized, offered to move us the next day, and gave us breakfast vouchers for both mornings. I appreciated that he attempted, and succeeded, in improving our stay.

The hotel is under what is a badly needed remodel. Having said that, with two floors closed off (free ear plugs available for those impacted by the noise), elevators that have only been partially refinished, and rooms that have updated bathrooms/entryways and classic mid-80's furniture and fixtures, the hotel is disappointing at best.
Room furnishing are stained and in poor repair.

This place is being upgraded, but my colleague says the renovations have been going on for 18 months! Rooms nothing special, and as I write, I can hear very clearly the news being broadcast on the tv in the room next door (through an interconnecting door).
You’re near the airport here, which can be convenient... it I can hear the flights taking off, very noisily.
Nice bar downstairs with a wide selection,of draft beers...always a good thing to make up for the less than standard rooms.
