What People are saying

Roaches and blood

specialed2013 on 19/11/2017 05:06

This place is horrible and our room was disgusting! The heating unit was so loud it had to be unplugged, the carpet was so disgusting we never could take our shoes off, there was a giant watermark on the ceiling and the room smelled like mold and feces. After I took this video down to the front desk they finally gave us another room with a comp glass of wine that I would not serve my enemies nor would I cook with it๐Ÿ˜ I can't believe this place wouldn't even give us a discount after this nightmarish experience. Here is a video I took in the room of a horrible cockroach climbing on my glass and some of the blood that was on a pillow. Cockroaches and blood! I mean really this is disgusting!!!

Nice hotel close to stadiums

SouthhillsCritic on 05/11/2017 11:58

We stayed here for one reason. It was very close to Wells Fargo Center. My wife and daughter had a fall out boy concert to attend.

The hotel was nice. It has a restaurant, and small store inside. The pool is outside which doesn't help during the cold months.

The room was ok. It can use some upgrades. The shower was not comfortable.

Good but hotel is a bit tired

LL18 on 04/11/2017 12:52

We were in for a conference in the old district. Rooms are average but are showing its age. Fairly clean. We cabbed to our conference and it was about 10- 15 mins and $15 to the old district. From airport its also about 15 mins. They have shuttle service too airport. Restaurant is so so. Pub fair, not best service and food was nothing to right home about. Staff in hotel were nice and overall a comfortable stay.

One night stay for Eagles Game

RamblingRoad on 03/11/2017 16:37

We choose this hotel because it is within walking distance to the sporting venues. We have stayed here several times. We have always had a nice clean room. The bathroom has all the necessities provided. The beds are very comfortable and we slept so good. We could hear some noise from the hallway when people were going to their rooms but it wasn't bad. The front desk staff was very nice and quick to assist us in getting our room and check out was very quick. The reason I did not give this hotel a five star is the bar/restaurant. The service in there is really bad. It took a long time to get a waitress then an extra long time to get our food. When we did get the food it was very good. I just wish they would have better service. Even with this issue I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Why Is This a Holiday Inn?

Rosemary W on 01/11/2017 02:34

We have spent the last five months traveling throughout the U.S., and we have stayed in a lot of Holiday Inns. In the west and midwest, we usually could count on a consistent experience. We knew what we were getting with HI, so we felt confident making a reservation. But since arriving in the northeast, it seems that the overall quality of HI has dropped. We never know what we are going to get, and that's not a good thing. The brand doesn't seem to mean much any more.

This hotel seemed outdated and not well cared for. There were so many little things: lumps or tears in the wallpaper; furniture and fixtures that were chipped, scratched, battered, or warped; evidence of repairs not done well. The impression was one of long-standing neglect.

Our room had a thin connecting door to the next room, and all the sounds from that other room could be heard clearly. I'm not talking about people who were shouting (although that did happen). We could clearly hear normal talking, TV, coughing, phone calls, drawers being opened and closed, etc. We had to turn the fan on to partly drown them out.

Look up "suite" in the dictionary, and you will find that it is a "set of connecting rooms." Most people would define it that way - to be a suite, it needs to have two rooms, or at the very least, two very clearly separated spaces. Although our room was called a "suite" it wasn't a suite; it was just an extra large room. There is nothing wrong with an extra large room, and I'm happy to get one whenever possible. But it's not a suite, and it should be described accurately.

The WiFi connection wasn't strong enough to work well on the 11th floor. We often need to do a little work when we are traveling, but we couldn't do it here. I tried downloading a one-page document from my insurance company, and it just timed out again and again. I wanted to print several documents, so I went down to the "business center". Attempts to print generated error messages. The front desk called a technician, who did show up promptly. He worked on it and finally got a document to print, but it was unreadable because the printer cartridge was running out of ink. I was told I could print at the front desk. But that was a problem. They put a monitor up on the counter and turned it around to face me. But the mouse cord was too short - it just reached about an inch of the counter. It clearly wouldn't work for me to spend an hour standing in the lobby, with other guests coming and going around me, struggling with a mouse that couldn't be moved properly, trying to edit and resize documents for printing. So I gave up. I knew I'd be moving to a different hotel the next day and could work there. I never understood why they couldn't just replace the ink cartridge in the business center printer.

The one thing this hotel has going for it is that it is in walking distance from the sports complex. Many people spend one or two nights for the sole purpose of attending a game. People who only care about being close to the stadium just need a roof over their heads and probably don't care much about the rest of it. But for someone who is traveling for business, tourism, or visiting family, this place is lacking.
