Great staff, that makes this hotel stand apart from many others I've stayed in. The hotel itself is pleasant and located to the south of Porto so not central, this isn't an issue as its only a 20 min walk to the river or a 4€ Uber! The Port houses are in the south too, Taylor's is only 10 min walk away from the hotel. There are a couple of great little restaurants near by (modest looking but delicious and amazing value for money).
The reception is impressive and the hotel is well regarded in the area. The rooms are clean and spacious. Great view across the city and ocean too.
From the hotel Matasinhos Beach is 20 mins Uber (16€) away but much nicer is Gaia beach only 10 mins away (cleaner and unspoiled). Ask the Uber to take you to Dakiri Beach bar and you can walk towards Mirimar (Small church on the beach) for a nice stroll!
Porto and the people are beautiful. Highly recommended the Holiday Inn Gaia a great base to explore the city.

I will keep this short and sweet. Rooms good, food good but staff unbelievably good. Customer service unequalled in any IHG I have stayed at. Worth staying at any time as Porto is a beautiful city. It may be a bit out of the way but once you use it as a base there are loads of good restaurants in th vicinity and the metro stop Joao de dues is only a 10 minute walk.

The room was modern and clean, and the bed was large and comfortable. The breakfast, though not included in the price, offered an excellent variety of fresh and tasty items. The hotel had an attached restaurant that provided good opportunities for dining and drinks in the evenings, all in a calm and pleasant area next to the lobby.

Very nice, peaceful, comfortable bedroom with a very nice view.
There is free Internet in the hotel.
Breakfast was very complete with lots of different things you can choose from.
The staff was kind and helpful. It's not very far from the centre of the city, but you do need to take a taxi to get there.

Hotel room is OK but the "restaurant" does not match the same standard. Go anywhere in the neighbourhood. Long awaiting times. Staff tries to work hard but the overall "organization" seems to be not adequate.
