chriswC4336PVon 11/11/2017 20:50This is a very upscale looking property, that is located nearby the Hospital, Interstate and Downtown. The rooms are clean, cheerful and comfortable along with the Restaurant & Bar selection is good if you don't want to go out.
Two night stay- Good hotel
jkaterberg12on 04/11/2017 16:40We stayed two nights in this hotel and our experience was a good one. The room was clean and up to date...and thats about it, nothing special, just a clean place to lay your head. There were signs in the elevator advising that the hotel was under construction, or going through a remodel but we were never bothered at all by noise. A down part to this hotel, as with most hotels is parking! We had to park in the restaurant parking lot adjacent to the hotel and walk. We are used to this, but this hotel seemed to have less close parking than most.
ROACHES, ROACHES, ROACHES!!!!!
spirit37on 02/11/2017 03:24When I stayed at this hotel I awakened to multiple roaches in the bathroom. When I contacted management they didn't do anything about it. I couldn't sleep comfortably due to the roaches. Don't stay here!!!!
Handicap room was not handicapped friendly
helen ton 29/10/2017 16:50I booked a handicapped room to stay overnight so i was rested and fresh for my full day at the hospital nearby the next day. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and spacious.The staff were friendly and the price was reasonable.
First issue was the room was on the second floor. Incase of emergency I am not capable of getting down the stairs.The big problem was the bathroom!!! The commode was of normal height, fine for all you able bodied people. I would have brought my extension if I had a clue. There was a pull up bar high BEHIND the toilet. What exactly am I suppose to do with that?? I was stuck there for over an hour in the middle of the night. Maybe suggest emergency call bell in a handicapped room that IS NOT handicapped accessible. Then the shower/tub. It was not walk in or wheel in. It was a foot high tub to step in and out of. No shower seat. No hand held shower. May they never have to be in a position where they, they spouse, their parent or child truly need handicap accessible basic care and needs.Again, completely unusable/UNSAFE to me.
While I was trying to be rested and fresh for the long day I was dirty,in pain, frustrated and tired.Would not give me a late check out to come back and get my things in-between testing. Had very very few handicapped parking spaces, full and they weren't even close. I insisted they park my car which they did without complaint yet acted like I was being odd with their looks and nods to each other. Friendly to me.The gentleman in the morning was very nice and retrieved my car quickly. Knowing exactly where and what it was without ticket.
Breakfast buffet $10. Was decent, not great variety but decent food. The staff very kindly offered to carry plate or get things for me. I saw them pulling food off to take to room service.So same stuff I guess. Unfortunately it was at the farthest possible place from the rooms.
The same room serves as bar/ restaurant at night. I met friends there for a beer in the evening. ( haha my bathroom issue at night). Full bar, some good beer brands,sports TV's. My friends ordered food...bar kinda options only availably. They said was good but neither ate more than half their food. I had opted to eat at Carlos Brazilian just up the road earlier. Wonderful wonderful food there!!
No Vending on my floor, the floor below me would only take an occasional quarter. and ice machine was not working and had flooded entire room and saturated the rug in the hallway. They were already aware.
So, if you're able bodied I would give them a higher rating by one. In my situation they were a nightmare.
Rest Stop while traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway
DarrylKHugginson 24/10/2017 17:14This hotel was close and convenient to our ride along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The room was clean and comfortable for our needs. Although the hotel is undergoing renovations, the room was setup nicely.
We didn't eat at the hotel but noticed that there were restaurants semi-close by.
I would consider staying here next time we are in the area.
