Stayed at Holiday Inn while attending a Conference.
Booked a "King Deluxe View" room, and was given a room on the 4th floor overlooking the carpark at the front of the hotel.
Bed was overly soft. Felt something scratch me in bed in the middle of the night, and to my horror in the morning, found somebody's nail clippings embedded in the sheets.
Requested for room cleaning. Strangely the house keeping lady knocked, then said she would return in 30min, and never returned. Called reception, who questioned "what exactly is it you want?"
They seem to be renovating rooms in the Tower Wing where I stayed during June 2017 so I'd suggest avoiding these rooms.
Only positive was excellent shower pressures, and ample parking. Situated ~10min drive from Events Centre. Free wifi for IHG members which is free to join.

We arrived here after a sort tour of other parts of NZ North Island. Rotorua is very tourist oriented, and this hotel caters to tour buses. However, despite the crowds in the lobby we had a quiet room on the top floor with a view of the parking lot. There were some rude people honking horns early one morning, but overall beds were comfortable and room was nice and clean. This hotel is right next to a hotspring, which is an interesting walk, but one night the fumes came into the hotel and we could smell the sulfur. I guess that's the real Rotorua experience, LOL. Central location, would stay again.

Visited last winter and absolutely loved it. Kids very much enjoyed the hot pools which is opened until late. Buffet dinner was so good especially Thai chicken curry. Booking again with them this winter.

Great staff and free wake up calls! Just get a room by the pool and at 6:30AM - when they open the pool, you'll wake right up with kids and their parents screaming and splashing - Horray! Oh and if you don't like to sleep before 11:00PM, get the room by the pool since they close it at 10:30PM but don't kick anyone out until sometime after. The location and facilities are very good - it's not the four seasons but since you are on a budget - this one works. If peace and quiet are your thing - not really the hotel of choice...... just saying.....

The hotel is good. Reception staff is very efficient, got us checked in in under 5 mins. The only downside is the location, it is a 10 minute drive from the lake and downtown. A special mention for the heated swimming pool, it was the highlight of our stay.
