I travel a lot and don’t usually stay at Holiday Inn. This was a pleasant surprise a beautiful large hotel with restaurant and gift/snack shop with excellent staff and clean rooms. I highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed at hotel on business with UofM. Large room with 2 double beds, work desk, and separate sitting room with TV, couch, table n mini frig. Perfect for business travel! Carpet in hallways a little outdated. Great breakfast buffet. Very friendly staff.

Overall, checkin was smooth and seamless. Room was nice (105), double bed suite. Breakfast was included in our rate, restaurant was sparkling and inviting along with the service.
Spent the day touring the University with my son, followed by a quickie Tour of Beale Street and environs.
Returned to our room around 3p to find our room half cleaned as well as our room heater turned on high. It felt like a sauna, looked like one too. Our bath towels were piled in the middle of the floor. Trash not taken out, bathroom not cleaned.
Spoke with Debbie, who pretty much cut me off from my complaint, although she apologized, however felt she wasn’t listening or I would have not had to call twice to the front desk and swing by. She could have saved time or could have prevented this review had she listened.
Totally unacceptable experience and an unacceptable way to handle my poor experience at the Holiday Inn University of Memphis.
I think the university runs a program at this location. They need to spend more learning and teaching cleaning and customer service.

Apparently, this is the hotel used by those that are attending some function or conference in reference to the university. The facility is really nice and it has a restaurant and lounge with staff that are friendly and helpful. In speaking with my co-workers and colleagues, it must be a suite hotel. I enjoyed my stay here.

This is an unusual hotel in that it is part of the university's Hospitality and leisure facility. It is quietly situated with plentiful free parking. The room on the ground floor was spacious and well-kept. The vast lobby is a little soulless as is the bar. There were no customers in the bar on either of our.three nights stay. The barman told us that they were not allowed to serve draft beer because this was "A School" (!) though bottled beer and wine were available. We felt we were disturbing his TV viewing. The restaurant is good and reasonably priced with friendly staff. We had both breakfast and dinner there.
However, we were subject to a scam phone call in our room minutes before we checked out, purporting to be the deputy restaurant manager and asking for our credit card details due to a " a problem in paying for breakfast" We almost fell for it but did not give the security code before realising what was going on. Not strictly the hotel's fault but he knew my name and room number and could have only seen this from the restaurant check which the waitresses had left on their desk for all to see. Needs a reminder never to do this. Despite the unfortunate ending, we would stay again.
