What a surprise! This hotel has made our dream come true with all the decorations from roses, balloons and towels plus the royal treatment during our stay. We stayed here for 2 weeks and that 2 weeks Hubby was the King and I was the Queen. The management and operational employees were exceptional. Mr Megat who's in charge of the hotel at the time was so wonderful to us. He and his team did a fantastic job! He upgraded our room and placed a nice decoration in our upgraded room due to being newlyweds in this town, woohoo! Our room was nice, clean and comfortable. I think they did this mostly for Hubby for being a foreigner in a foreign land. The staffers were friendly, helpful and super polite. Wherever we went in this hotel either restaurant, lobby or the pool, everyone was happy to see us, especially to see Hubby, the only American staying here. Alor Setar is a small city, nothing like KL, Penang or Langkawi where you see foreigners often. We also had a chance to use the restaurant. We had lunch with my family. The food was good here, especially satay. So we had satay almost daily. To name a few, mee goreng, beehoon, nasi goreng, are all very delicious! Besides Mr Megat, the restaurant manager is another friendly manager we interacted in our daily basis. Every morning we had breakfast at the restaurant by the lobby and the breakfast buffet was very good. The pool area is cozy and quiet. The view from the pool is nice, overlooking the tower and small city below it. We felt very relaxed being in this hotel. No rush. Overall experience is extremely happy and delightful. Hubby couldn't believe how great his experience would turn out to be. I did tell him before that they don't eat people here, but they do have great appetites! LOL. We would like to Thank Mr Megat and his management and operational staff for their hard work and dedication, friendliness and assistance. Definitely would be back to this hotel.

We stayed here for a 3 days 2 night stay. I must say that when we arrive to the room, it was quite disappointing but when considering the price was reasonable, we tried to overlooked it. It was actually a twin super single room and not a 2 double bedded room as per informed upon booking. More disspointing was when we got unto the bed, the bed was lumpy and it it actually sank. The hotel ambiance was nice and cosy but the bed definitely needed to be change.

Holiday Villa Hotel, Alor Setar Kedah.
ROOM: The Single room has all basics item, inclusive of bath tub, ironing items, mini fridge. No teeth brush provided though. Becarefull on door access, it wont autolock when its komplein.
WIFI: Complimentary but you might want to ditch it. Its connected but intermittenly way too slow. Even Bing website unable to be open up properly.
F&B: Not grand but ok.
GYM: Only weight machine and dumbell.
POOL: Have kids pool and adult with 4 feet depth, 30m (or so) length.
MEETING ROOM: Located at first floor, and have sufficient space for 50pax.
PARKING: Complementary for guest, but limited parking lot.

my colleague n i booked the prima queen room and we supposed to get two queen bed.but we only get two single bed instead.quite dissapointing.not much choices for breakfast buffet.however the location is in the middle of alor setar town and near to lots of shops

Room was clean, check in and out was fast maybe it was a weekday. Hot water was just luke warm. Furniture and fixtures abit old. Couldn't control aircon which made the room really cold as it was raining outside and quite stuffy if we switch off the aircon. Car park was quite small. Not sure how they cope when the hotel was full. Its next to the mall which have a McDonalds. There's a 7 eleven and Guardian just walking distance from the hotel. Other than that its quite quiet. You need to drive out for food stuff.
For dinner try the Pine 2, breakfast try the Pekan Rabu Food stalls (lots to choose from) and for lunch try the shop near the Menara Zakat. All recommended by a local Kedah resident. Food was really good
