Updated older hotel with charm. Loved everything especially the staff. Last minute rehearsal dinner by the pool was a huge success! Great pool, bar & restaurant!! Wedding at Sunkin Gardens nearby. Great downtown location in St. Petersburg! Will definitely be back.

The Hollander is a boutique type hotel. It is not the most elegant room I’ve ever had, but the staff was so accommodating, and it has excellent atmosphere with a dining room, and breakfast on the porch. It is definitely a great place to base from on a visit to St. Petersburg.

I recently stayed at the Hollander for a wedding weekend and was so impressed ! The hotel and rooms are beautiful with lots of character and the staff is phenomenal....they went above and beyond to accomodate us. There is an adorable cafe attached to the hotel with incredible cakes and pastries..some of the best I have seen ( and ok..also tasted). Coffee was great too. Of course one of the highlights is the amazing pool area. I would book a vacation here just for the pool. It has fountains, waterfalls and cabanas. This hotel is truly a hidden gem.

If you took out the room and stay, I would rank this higher, but for us, this is not a high-ranked hotel. We stayed here for a sleeping. We stayed in a king room. The bed was horribly uncomfortable and creaked at every movement. The floors are all hard wood...charming but very creaky. The upstairs neighbors seemed loud but probably because of the creaking floors...stay on top floor, if possible. The bathroom was very small. There was a small shelf above the sink but no counter. The water in the shower was not temperature consistent and got hot or cold, which is unpleasant. The room doors were not very secure and had no peep hole. The patio looked out over the pool area but had blue buckets to catch the water dripping from the above A/C units. It was cool out, but we could not leave the door open for fresh air because the poolbar area was very busy, loud and smoky. We ate dinner there one night and wanted to go in the pool but no one was in there and everyone was just standing around it. It would have been awkward if we wanted to get in to enjoy the pool in the evening. The air conditioning in the room was not very good. It stayed almost 80% humid in the room and there was a musty smell that they try to cover up with a minty spray of some sort. Everything just felt sort of wet due to the humidity. Also, parking was a mess. Half of it was dirt and we were lucky to find a spot a building away on the opposite end of the block. There seemed to be homeless or other types hanging out nearby. It is free parking, though. If you go for the atmosphere and not the quality of room, this is great, but it was not for us. There a lot of people that just go there to hang out and not stay. They tried to say the free shuttle made up for the parking but overall, not a huge perk.

Hollander Hotel is really nice. Like Avalon, its twin hotel, this is a historical building with a beautiful brick facade.
Close to St. Pete downtown it offers a shuttle service for the hot spots in town.
The staff is friendly. Complimentary water daily or on demand. There's a bar, a restaurant and a pool with a bar.
Free self parking.
The only down side is that you can clearly hear everything if people in the hallway speak a little loudly.
Our bedroom was more than adequate. The bathroom has a tub with no separate shower.
Toiletries included soap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and make-up remover.
A nice experience overall.
