We booked our room on the hotel website. The website described it as a "DELUXE ROOM" in the Luxury King Lodge. The room was supposed to be so nice that it "will make your head spin" like a "cabin in the woods retreat." It was also supposed to have "Luxurious furnishings" .
When we arrived, we were told that they didn't have any of the rooms that we booked. What we got was a standard room with 2 full sized beds that was just like an average Holiday Inn. We told the front desk person that we had booked the "Luxury King Lodge", she said that they didn't have any more of those rooms available. They offered nothing to accommodate us for their mistake. THEY CHARGED US THE SAME PRICE FOR THE "STANDARD ROOM 2 QUEEN BEDS" as the "Luxury King Lodge".
In business, it is best to exceed expectations, rather than set them and fall short. We expected AND PAID FOR "Luxury King Lodge", but we got "STANDARD ROOM 2 QUEEN BEDS".
The staff seemed unconcerned about their mistake and said they "can not guarantee that you get the room you booked" and paid for.
Sounds like that system really needs to be changed. You are disappointing a lot of customers.

Stayed for 1 night on my way to FL. Room was really great, comfortable & had a view of the marina. Unfortunately the casino & common areas are smoker friendly & they smell like it. I limited my casino time because the roulette wheel wasn't up & after about 30 minutes just could not stand the smokey smell anymore. But my non-smoking room was just fine. I would stay here again, but it wouldn't be for the casino.

Hollywood Casino is a small casino. It is really smokey - not enough ventilation for the smoke. However the 2nd floor is non-smoking. The Buffett on the weekends have snow crabs and red royal shrimp which are the best in Mississippi. The machines are okay. Not enough pay out. I have been many times and hardly ever win anything. If you like luxury rooms - don't stay here. The last time I stayed in a room here , the room smelled and it had mildew in the shower/tub combo. I took a picture and showed the desk clerk. The closet is not big enough for you to put your suitcase in. The floors have stains. I wrote a complaint letter about the room and never heard back from anyone. The check- in is also terrible. One guy was nice but most of all the women were not very nice at check in. Also, we waited hours for our room to be ready - well into the evening hours. Will come back for the Buffet - but never will stay at the Hollywood Casino Hotel again.

Booked a 1 night stay on a road trip from Orlando to Dallas. Very clean and spacious newer hotel/casino. Ample complimentary valet parking. The only downside was the heavy, horrible smell of cigarette smoke from the casino when you walk in the front door to the lobby. There are some rooms however that are no smoking. The hotel was busy so we were graciously upgraded to a Junior Suite. Huge buffet dining but we didn't eat there because of the cigarette smell. Short drive to harbor side cute restaurants featuring fresh caught seafood at an inexpensive price. Nice visit!

Nice location and only 2 1/2 hours from home for us! Reservation was easy to get even though we booked only 4 days out. Our room was spacious, comfortable and decorated very nicely - we even had a lovely view of the Bay! Enjoyed the shallow pool and Lazy River immensely. There are MANY choices of dining in the Hotel - the Buffet upstairs and the Cafe on the first floor are a MUST for their all-night dining or their AMAZING pastries and cakes! The fine dining restaurant is perfect for "date night" - great food and atmosphere. Casino has a good variety of slots and table games and a great wait staff. We love coming here and always hate to leave!
