Great hotel
Mykidrows16on 17/11/2017 22:22We were there with a high school crew team. The front desk was phenomenal! She was very accommodating and seemed like she loved her job! The breakfast was also very good. We were very happy with the rooms. Will definitely stay there again!!
Like being at home when on the road
D9370NAvaleriegon 04/11/2017 19:23I have been traveling to Augusta for years. This time my husband came with me so decided to try Homewood. It was lovely! The rooms are spacious, the evening social terrific - but - as great as those were, the friendly staff is what made this a wonderful stay. I would recommend...in fact already have!
Hidden Treasure
oakislandbonnieon 02/11/2017 15:56Second stay at this excellent hotel. Just as happy the second time as I was the first. Pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and value for the price of the stay. Rooms are spacious and the staff is friendly.

cordeliaw424on 31/10/2017 20:14I had a really good experience with this hotel the employee's were friendly met any needs that I had. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Georgia area. The location is great and convenient to shopping and eating areas.
We were very disappointed
Dalovian Hon 29/10/2017 17:33We often stay at Homewood Suites and have stayed in this one before about 18 months before with no problems. I hate to write negative reviews but overall so many things were wrong that I feel compelled to review this. The most important things we look for in a hotel are clean rooms and a comfortable bed. When we walked in the room it immediately smelled of intense air freshener spray. It worried me some that it needed to be so strong. Otherwise the room looked fine. The bed however was lumpy (and I am not exaggerating here) and uncomfortable. We both rolled into the center of the bed. I was shocked, The bed is way past needing to be replaced. This was the first time I have ever had this experience at a Homewood Suites. We were staying for 5 nights and visiting family in the area. We brought food but were shocked to find the refrigerator door opened backwards and you had to practically sit on the small table to get out of the way of the door. We complained and asked if they could reverse it but were told, after it was not done on day one, that maintenance needed to get special parts and it could not be fixed until after we left. In our 24 years of marriage my husband had reversed our refrigerator doors on two occasions with just a screwdriver. Not fixing it because of parts was baloney!
On day two we left around 9 am and came back around 8 pm and housekeeping had not done our room. Fresh towels were brought to us and they were very apologetic at the front desk when we called. I called the next day as we were leaving at around the same time to make sure that they got our room cleaned. The man at the front desk explained to me that because we had had our Do Not Disturb sign up on the day before (removed at 9 am) that the housekeeping likely figured that we did not want service at all. If it was up at noon I could imagine this but 9 am??? Poor excuse!. I don't ever recall this happening to me before at a hotel.
Our room was cleaned on day three but felt like housekeeping was now mad at us for reporting them and it was poorly done. The towels were not arranged (given to us the night before). We had no wash cloths. The bed was sloppy. A blanket we had used on the bed was not folded. New soap were not left. There was toothpaste still on the sink so it was not cleaned and the ends of the toilet paper were not folded (the toilet paper folding is not important to us but it shows that housekeeping is making every effort to make you feel welcome when they do it.) Same thing with folding of the towels.
In our toilet there was a brown sludge that was there when we arrived. I thought it was a stain but it left when you flushed. It returned every time. Something is dirty somewhere. The toilet handle was broken and you had to hold it down until the flush was completed. The shower had nice pressure but there was black mold in the corner of the shower.
I complained about the cleaning and the next day our room was cleaned to perfection. Our granddaughters slept over on day three and when we pulled out the sleeper sofa there was a huge wire that had broken on it and it was sticking out to the side with a sharp end. My husband was able to bend it back under the bed, but it was thick and this took a lot of effort.
I found water on the counter in the morning. it turned out that it was from washing dishes but I looked up to see if there was a leak and found a huge bubble in the ceiling where there had been a leak from above in the past. It was dry but I was astounded that it was not fixed.
On day two the cable system to hotel did not work. We were told that they were switching cable services and that we could have a free movie if we wanted to. We wanted to watch a specific show and were glad we had it recording at home. We gave up trying to watch it, read instead and went to bed.
Noted that there were huge stains all over the carpet in the hall ways. There was not enough parking and we had to park far from our door on the other side of the building. That door was "out of order" and we had to walk through the pool door to get in the hotel. The door to the pool was left open to show us that there was a way in. The door to the hotel by the pool was not locked. The pool area was therefore not secured and the hotel itself was not secured as no key was needed to get it.
The free breakfast was done very poorly. We know this food and it is never "great" but is eatable usually. The eggs were so bad the first day that I couldn't get myself to try them the second day. There was something I though was hash browns 1 inch disks that turned out to be over baked dry sausage patties. I had to spit it out. Had a waffle and it was the same as always, strong fake vanilla but eatable. Bagels OK. Dannon yogurt was fine. Tried the cornflakes. I couldn't imagine that they would not be okay but they were terrible. Not stale just awful. I eat generic cornflakes at home but couldn't eat these. You can survive the breakfast but we ate out two of the five mornings because it was so poorly done. There was no interaction with the cook. Usually they are out checking on you and interacting making sure everything is okay.
Lumpy mattress--- unacceptable
No housekeeping on day two---unacceptable
Broken toilet handle---Shows lack of care
Mold in the shower---shows lack of care
Bubble in the ceiling after a leak not repaired---unacceptable
Refrigerator door on the wrong way--- unacceptable and shows lack of care
Broken entry door--- unacceptable
Terrible Breakfast---shows lack of care. Get someone who cares what they cook.
Hotel management needs to get their act together and lead the teams that provide service to the customers. They need to walk through the rooms and do checks to see what need to be fixed. I can't imagine how they let the bed go so long without an upgrade. Maintenance is either lazy or unskilled. Get a team that is motivated and able to upkeep the rooms. Housekeeping was lax and not sure if someone just had a bad day X 2 but there will be no housekeeping jobs if the hotel is not busy. Rare for us to have a bad relationship with housekeeping. Never saw housekeeping once in the hallway at any time of day when we were there. We left a good tip anyway hoping that the person who cleaned our room the last day was the recipient.
I will not stay here again when we visit Augusta Georgia and will now need to pay closer attention to the Homewood Suites Brand as Hilton doesn't appear to be watching with a close eye!
If you must stay avoid room 206!
