Pretty Good Hotel

I visited this hotel in march and was very pleased. Nothing important to really complain about. The lobby of this hotel is very beautiful and grand. The rooms were very clean but however, are a bit plain. The bathroom was very nice and luxurious looking. The food was decent and the staff was very polite and willing to help.
Large Hotel near Western Train Station, but far from tourist spots

I stayed here as it was close to my office. There were no foreigners here, besides myself. The hotel had 7 stars, which I have to believe is a self-rated review.
The hotel had an immense lobby & the rooms were decent sized. Being that this is far from the tourist destinations, my internet was severely limited. More likely what the Chinese nationals would have access to versus a more open internet service at foreigners hotels. Even with a VPN the internet was very slow.
big hotel, but far from everywhere

I'm staying at this hotel with my tour group. seems like this hotel is cater to big groups. so it's always crowded, especially at breakfast area, it's always full and packed with people.
Arrive at 3am from a long haul flight from singapore in a very cold night at november and found that the receptionists can't speak english. Needles to say, there were no smile or greeting to welcome the guests.
The room is somehow old, but clean. There's no international channel on TV and the room heater is set centrally. sometimes we have to turn off the heater because the room getting hotter than we needed to. Bathroom is clean and well lit, with standard amenities of 3 star hotel.
The location is the biggest setback. it is far from everywhere. plus, you cannot communicate with the hotel staff to get information of the surroundings. So it's so difficult when we want to go out of our own to have some drinks or convenience store. It is very near to the Beijing west railway station if you want to go to the other part of china.
Remote location

Overall good but not 5 stars as promised - 3 maybe. Location is the biggest problem of this hotel. Is remote fron the city center and no metro nearby. In the morning you can take a cab (22 yuan to Tyananmen sq.) but in the evening it can be tough. Construction site just outside the building was making noise all the night. The room was very big and clean, but no dresser - you wonder where to put your clothes. Spacious bathroom with all toiletery but no hear conditioner and you can not take a shower or a bath without making a big puddle in the middle of the bathroom. The stuff was very friendly but nobody speaks English. In spite of that we were able to order a taxy twice which arrived to pick us up in 5-10 minutes. NO RESTOURANT on premises after 20:30 - this was a blow when we returned late from our first day of exploring the city! Later we learned from our fellow travellers that you can order McDonalds or KFS, there are branches nearby and they deliver 24X7. BUT nobody at the reception suggestet it to us when we were asking about where we can find a place to eat late in the evening. There is a small chinese restaurant nearby, simple and fresh chinese food. No English, you order by the pictures - manageable.
Zero Customer Service for Foreigners

We’re so disappointed with this hotel since checking in. No smile, no greeting, and not even eye contact with us. We need to carry our luggages from entrance to the front counter, then to the hotel rooms.
Hotel lifts are always stop at the Spa Centre floor to attract people. Very irritating!
The one and only impressive area is the hotel lobby with limited seats for guests & decorated with artificial flowers on an old-fashioned table.
Room condition is not up to the standard of 5-star. Smelly carpets, yellowed-stained tiles, old & bulky TV, weird air-cond system & no wifi in room really cut down the rating. Well, the Chinese tea sold at lobby snack area is 5-star priced.
None of the hotel staff could communicate in simple English. Zero customer service for tourists. Our request (spoke in Mandarin) to book a taxi was rejected by counter personnel but the same service was provided to other local guests!
Daily complimentary breakfast is horribly lousy. Bad air circulation. Same oily & tasteless food is served everyday & the choices are limited & only suitable for local people. We stayed there for 7 days -- breakfast menu never change.
600m to McDonald's & 1.5km to Carrefour.
