Good place for family rest

Been for week vacations with my family on October 2017. Its a good place for beach/pool vacations and riding experience. Service is very responding (reception and infopoint). Room was cleaned every day with care. Bathroom needs a bit refurbishment but more or less OK. Food is on average level - same breakfast every morning, lunch and dinner with not enough warm meals. It has improved after some days but still stands as point of improvement. Good point - quite silent atmosphere without noisy neighbors :) Car rent is quite expensive at place so if you'd like to travel get reservation in advance. Small shop is in resort territory - very friendly staff and here you can find some local wines and souvenirs. Great staff at stables - instructors are very friendly. Mostly I'd get back for riding and calm beach rest.
Pines and beach

The resort offers accommodation either in hotel rooms or in cottages placed in pine forest. The hotel rooms on the ground floor open the balcony doors direct to the green open space. The rooms are simply however adequately equipped. The self service buffet is to ve found in a separate building. The way to the beach through the pine forest takes some 5 minutes walk. The beach is nice, sandy, sized for the hotel. The sea is well accessible and warm. The queue at the buffet breakfast and dinners, sometimes shortage of some meals, wifi only in reception house belong to the weaknesses. And maybe the isolation from the "civilization" unless you are looking for a real relax out of the world.
It was my first visit but definitively not the last time.

Good quality service, friendly staff. The staff in stables was specially helpful! The horse rides were excellent 👍 The room was clean and spacious. The surounding garden is beautiful and the beach very nice. I am looking forward to the next visit!!
Best time was seeing this place disappear in my rear-view mirror.

Let's start at the end. At checkout I was confronted with an additional sur-charge of € 20,- for use of the pool/facilities. I wanted to check my reservation on bookings to see if I missed something but, NO WIFI in the reception. The woman at the desk would not give my her copy of my reservation so, wanting to get the hell away from this place, I paid and left. I later discoverd that there is only a small reference to something called a ressort-charge, but without any indication that this is not already included in the roomprice, and no mention of the absurd amount of € 20,- for one night!! This, however, is only one minor point. Lets start with the text/add on booking.com. You are led to beleive that you are booking a normal hotel with outdoor facilities and private beach. Only at arrival you find out that the hotel is only a small part of a much lager complex, with other hotels and vacation houses. This in itself would not be so bad, however, it was, as I explain later. The room was located at the end of a corridor where the lights are off unless you press a button, with temporarily turns the lights on. So when you leave your room, you stumble in the dark untill you find the button. The room itself looked NOTHING like the picture on booking. Very dark, and last renovated 20 years ago. The toilet kept running and missed the button to flush. The shower was so small that I was constantly "fighting" to keep the curtain of myself. Washing oneself was a challenge. The door of the television-stand, came right off when I tried to open it. And the room had NO WIFI. Unlike the promisse om the booking.com that their is WIFI on the entire property. There only was wifi in the bar, and even on the first row of the terras, the signal was very week. On bookings it said that there a two restaurants, one on the beach, which I really liked. But was closed. Also closed was the bar on the beach, that is only open for 2 hours mid-day and not around 5-6 o clock when you would like to get a appetizer/cocktail. Only way to get a drink at the beach is a vending maching that does not accept the charge-card that you need to pay for the other places on the ressort. So no drinks on the private beach. Maby better too, because normal beer costs a whopping FIVE euro's (compared to 2 - 3 euro's everywhere else on Sardinia). Further their is no staff what so ever on the beach and the sea was muddy. So,no dining at the beach, leaves the pizzeria, which only sells pizza's, and the buffet restaurant. If Dante Alighieri was alive today, he would describe the buffet restaurant as a layer of hell in the divine-comedy. Even before opening , there is a massive line outside and when the doors open an run starts for the small crowded table's inside. It is so full, that there is hardly place to walk to and from the table. The food itself was the worst I had on Sardina, ever!. You know you are in food-hell when you see a huge tray of risotto being pored in another huge tray of risotto. The only acceptable food was the sur-place cut peaces of meat, so of course there was a huge line for that. However, the wine was free and you better drink that because the cocktails at the bar contain hardly any alcohol. To make things further complicated, there is a bureaucracy worthy of Kafka. At check in you get a charge card, for which you pay a ten euro deposit. So don't lose it! God knows what happens to your money if you lose the card. Reservation for the buffet need to be made at the info-point, where only one person was working and where people where making elaborate inquiries about excursions. So you have to wait a lot. For the reservation itself you get all sorts of questions like the colour of your charge card (so bring it) and the time of your arrival. Then you pay € 25,- pp in advance, so no running away when you end up in the line later. So was everything bad. No, the pool is nice for children and seeing the smile on my 2-year old son's face helped me get trough the rest of the stay. Further this place makes me appreciate the other places I stayed much more. Leaving Fortezza after only one night was a huge relieve and worth paying for the full 2 nights. DO NOT GO HERE, unless you are some sort of vacation-masochist.

Ciao,
This was my second visit in the horse country resort this summer. After my first visit in July , I decided to come back for this season, because the first stay was amazing and literally changed my life and my relationship with horses after this trip. Alessandro Marucci from the equestrian stuff has this talent and gift for horses and people that makes you feel safe and comfortable to enjoy fully the experience to ride horses in this beautiful surrounding. This was my third horseback riding trip after Iceland and Andalucia and it was the best experience i ever did. To ride on the beach and the pine forest is so beautiful and enjoyable that i decided to come back every year now for the next 5 years. A big thank you to the equestrian team, especially Gavino Piga and Alessandro Marucci to work with passion and joy and take care of the horses with love and respect and give you as a guest a feeling that you are part of the team. Grazie Mille, Nadine
