Good location at a great price

The room we had was a corner room with a nice view of the plaza & the catheral. It had 3 large windows , lots of floor place, and a small refrigerator, all things, I think are unusual in a building this old.The only drawback was, the 1st night, a Saturday the noise from the local bars made sleep almost impossible. The 2nd night this was not a problem. In conclusion, it was a great location at a good price (55 euros a night).
Clean and central

I've been in this hostal last month and I really enjoyed it. Very central, clean and with air conditioning which is very important for warm Spain. I will book again when I go back to Granada and I would recommend it to my friends.
Perfect location, particularly for Semana Santa

Fonda Sanchez is the perfect location in Granada, probably 200m away from the main cathedral, but on a quiet and out of the way plaza. The small balcony that opens up on to the plaza, made for perfect procession watching during Semana Santa, as one of the processions starts and ends from the cathedral across from the hostel. The owner is friendly and helpful. It is surrounded with many lovely and affordable tapas bars and restaurants.

Room 308 . Nice Juliette balcony overlooking a square with shops/bars and look out to the church.
Quiet central position. Nice tiled entry, friendly efficient check in.
Our room although not big appeared to be more spacious due to the high double doors/Windows and ceiling.
Aircon, older style tv, double bed (mattress ok although pretty firm!, a cupboard and a desk and chair.
beautifully tiled Floor. Simple and clean.
Our own private bathroom although not ensuite was very close on the same floor and big and very clean, double washing basins, bidet, toilet, shower cubicle.
Plenty of bars/shopping/restaurants around and sightseeing points a plenty. Also close to University building... And very quiet!
A very pleasant stay
there were actually other options as well located and at the same range of price ( even cheaper ).

I really don't understand all the positive feedback on this place...maybe we were just in the wrong room...
We were a couple on a road trip travelling around Spain, and we looked for a cheap but comfy place to stay few days to visit the city.
Ok ,It was a last minute reservation because of a last minute issue... but we didn't appreciate to reserve a double room and to get a room with 2 separate beds without a notification.
It would be actually a deal breaker for us because there were actually other options as well located and at the same range of price ( even cheaper )... and more adapted for a couple on vacation. :)
Well, the hostal was well located ( 5 min of everything, but actually Grenada is quite small), the room was clean, but very noisy by night ( located face to the place, just above a bar...), the beds wasn't really confortable enough to sleep well ( and super thin) .Moreover, one of the biggest inconvenient was the comon bathroom at the end of the corridor, that you have to unlock and lock down every time you want to go there...
Yes, it's an Hostal so "you get what you paid".We did'nt expected lot of comfort, but after traveling around different countries ( and stay in hostels at different range of prices), it is actually one of my worst experiences. It was very difficult to sleep well at night because of the noise and we finally decided to leave this place soonest .
