The hostel is centrally located, short walking distance to anywhere.
Old and nice house, with wooden floor in our room, though some maintenance is seriously needed.
Central heating in the rooms, cleanliness can be improved, hot water working properly.
Buffet breakfast, not that varied, but tasty, bread is very good.
Good wifi everywhere.
Staff could be more service-oriented, smiling seemed too much of an effort.

The woman at the reception charged us more money than what we should have paid according to our online booking. When we complained, she said it is a normal price and everyone is paying the same. Our Spanish is quite basic so I asked her to use an online translator to explain us what happened but she was quite unwilling to do that and translated the only sentence we understood - that the normal price for their twin room is 130bol and she doesn't care what our online booking says. We booked for two nights but they made a reservation for us for only one night. So this was not a good start! The breakfast was quite nice though and the location of the hostel is perfect. I would not stay here again though.

Run down may not be strong enough, the walls were separating from the floor and there were soft spots in the floor that left me in fear of falling through in the middle of the night. I also have to mention exposed wiring where I assume new lighting is going, but looking at past reviews, those projects are on indefinite hold. I would have given a lesser rating but the rooms are "heated" the staff was responsive, though they did promise airport transport arrangements only to be told we should walk to the center for something quick when we checked out. The location is absolutely PERFECT.

In theory the kitchen is available to use, but that's a lie because you basically have to beg for it. When I tried to use it there was no kitchenware available and all the cupboards were locked, and nothing written to say what you are supposed to do. I went at Reception and had to ask for every single item I needed, and the incredibly rude man was annoyed with me and making a face for every new item I requested (a total of 3, by the way). I had to pay 10 bolivianos as deposit and he noted on a piece of paper every single one of them: a fork, a kinfe, a plate. If I have to beg to use these things they simply cannot say the kitchen is available, because it's not. And when later I went to ask for a towel to dry my hands (and his kitchenware that I was supposed to bring back absolutely clean) he didn't bother getting up from his chair and just said the towels were all dirty and he didn't care. Avoid these rude people. Also, shared bathroom are not the best, but the location is good.

This has by far been one of the filthiest and run down places i have ever stayed!
Firstly when i walk into my room i notice the floor is completely slanted i look towards the wall and the floor boards were detacehed from the skirting boards by at least 10cm. Next i look for a place to charge my phone.. I see holes where electrical sockets should but only exposed wires hanging out.
I then go to have a shower to see that the sliding door to the shower is not there.
Fast forward to the next morning as i wake up my clothes are covered in black human hair (im a bleach blonde) pull back the covers and the bed is covered in hair.
The man at reception was also very rude to me when i asked if i could use the storage upon checkout as i was getting a late bus. He said something in spanish while handing me the key and as i asked him to repeat it he yells at me 'are you f###ing stupid while throwing his hands at me in a get out motion almost hitting me in the face several times. He refused to let me place my bag in storage.
I would recommend finding somewhere else because this place is a health hazard.
