Great stay!

We moved to Hostal Patrimonio after staying one night at a nearby hostal that was simply not good. Hostal Patrimonio was clean, comfortable, well-located, and the staff was kind and helpful. They even looked after my toddler while I finished packing up :) The breakfast was very nice, with eggs made to order, juice, coffee, tea, bread, yogurt, and fruit. The woman working even helped me carry up my breakfast to my room as my son was still sleeping. This hotel was a better value and worth the extra $20 USD per night compared to our previous hotel. Only suggestion for improvement is TV reception could be better. After staying in two different places in Potosí, this would definitely be my first choice!

Overpriced and horrible rooms, terrible breakfast. Don't go.

This was one of the 'better' hotels in Potosi but honestly it's overpriced for what it is. The public toilet was out of order and the sauna not working despite it being one of the advertised services. Apparently it's been a while it has been out of order. The room itself, whilst quiet, was gloomy and unwelcoming. However the worst part is that first of all no curtain on the door half of which was a window. So we had to use a towel to cover up the door for privacy and so we didnt have the courtyard light coming into the room at night. And the worst is that we had the bathroom window of our neighbour in our bedroom!! Meaning that everytime they went into the bathroom all the light came into our room right into our lights in bed. What a stupid set up! There was of course no curtain either. And on top of that every time our neighbours went into the bathroom we heard the ventilation very loudly. Our neighbours went to bed after us, and got up way before us, and spent an extensive time in the bathroom so we had to deal with that light and ventilation for a long time. HOnestly it's one of the worst rooms i've ever stayed in. Then the service was pretty slow, had to wait a long time for toilet paper, had to fetch the hairdryer myself from reception, rather than them bring it (because no hairdryers in the room). Honestly if it was a cheap hostel I would get it, but this was supposed to be a decent hotel of a good standing. And finally the breakfast was the worst I have had since I've been here. Very small, very poor quality food, little choice.

Not recommended: Terrible experience

Unfortunately, my stay at hostal Patrimonio was the worst experience of my recent trip to Bolivia. On my arrival, I had requested a quiet room but was placed in the noisiest room of the hotel. Apparently there is a water pump that recharges every 5 minutes 24 hours a day, and creates a loud vibrational sound; in my first room (110) it was really loud. I asked the evening receptionist to be moved to a quieter room if the noise didn't stop at night, and she agreed. When I returned to sleep at night the noise was still going on. However, I was confronted by the night receptionist, Gustavo. He was unbelievably unprofessional, rude, aggressive and hostile. No idea, ability or willingness to provide customer service. After almost picking a fight with me, he eventually moved me to a smaller room. The noise was less but I could still hear it through the night and it impacted the quality of my sleep.
Both rooms were extremely dark, dingy and stuffy - it was hard to breathe.
Breakfast was practically nonexistent.
The stay ended as it started with me held hostage in the taxi at the airport by the driver demanding 6 times the base fare I was quoted by the hotel that booked the taxi. After a lot of arguing, the driver called the hotel, which agreed to pay for the fare overage (apparently the receptionist who booked the taxi was not aware of taxi fares).
Spare yourself a really bad experience and stay somewhere else.

Beautiful

It's in the middle of everything visitors want to visit. We spent a restful morning in the vicinity and had a great meal in a recommended restaurant nearby. Although there're limited choice for breakfast, I still recommend it.

Extremely helpful staff

Had planned to stay here for two nights but that changed as my partner got really bad altitude sickness while we were there. Decided we needed to get down to sucre quickly and the lady on reception couldn't have been more helpful. She organized everything for us, brought up oxygen and told us which pills to go and get. Also organized an express taxi for us. The room was really good, nice bathroom and good wifi. Was disappointing we couldn't have our two nights there. Would recommend!
