A nice hostel with good staff. There is a kitchen were you can make your food and a nice pool! In the surrounding area Miraflores, the are nice spots to visit. The beach and the center are in walking distance.

All that work they where very helpful and friendly. I always felt safe. The pool was drained but it was "winter" in Peru. They offered cooking lessons at the outdoor kitchen. The room was clean and bright.

I recently spent eight days at Hi Hostel with a small group of volunteers. The hostel was very welcoming and all staff speaking some English. The rooms were clean, and bathrooms cleaned daily. The common areas were well kept. The bed was comfortable, but make sure to bring your own pillow from home. Breakfast was provided daily and consisted of coffee, tea, juice, rolls and jam, and sometimes eggs or fruit. The lobby has wireless internet but it was often slow or not working. However, there are two computers usually available for use with internet. The pool was cold but refreshing and there were lots of lounge chairs. The outdoor space was beautiful. The hostel is in a good location, about 15 minute walk from the mall and 10 minutes from a large department store. The shower in my room only had cold water, but some other rooms had hot water at times. Overall, a great experience at Hi Hostel Lima.

The Lima hostel is located in a good part of town and is walking distance to practically anything you would need. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were kept clean.The only thing that could have used improvement is that we did not have warm water for our showers, however I know other rooms did.

Well...we arrived and had to pay more than expected. Limited English from the staff member at the time. No maps or information about the area. You have to pay for towels. Toilet was blocked. Shower was cold. Windows jammed open so couldn't escape the noise. Our friend arrived two days later and taxi didn't show. What are you told when you touch down in South America? Don't get in a random taxi. Luckily a nice man called the hostel. They hadn't ordered one cause they couldn't find the flight. Not to mention he had received a confirmation email a few days before saying taxi was booked. THANKS A LOT! Where was an email to say this? They had emailed back and forth beforehand regarding the flight. IT WAS THE RIGHT FLIGHT AND THEIR ERROR. So my friend got in a random taxi within his first 5 minutes in South America. Very safe!
I found rotting food in a drawer and told them about it. They didn't remove it so we put the drawer out on the landing as it smelt. Staff must not go upstairs as it was still there when we left 4 days later. They have a barking dog and a loud tv at reception so don't expect much sleep. Wifi only works downstairs or on the landing. All in all not a good experience. Lacking security big time too. 24 hour security consists of a man going and watching tv in an adjoining room and snoring loudly with keys on display in reception.
