Clean and nice hotel near Assisi

Simple, clean, good hotel near Assisi, within walking distance of the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli. Comfortable rooms, nice breakfast and dinner with our group. I would stay here again, reasonably priced..

Solid Hotel, Well Located

I spent two nights at this hotel on a three week group tour of Greece, Italy and France. I had read some reviews before hand and figured this would be a solid hotel. And it was. Nothing special, though. Just a good hotel.

The rooms were clean but plain. The beds weren't particularly comfortable but did the trick. The air conditioner was pretty weak, though, and the wifi internet was very slow. The bathroom was nice and spacious. There were also some nice bathroom amenities offered, more than the little packets of soap and shampoo typical of these kind of hotels. But overall, the room was unremarkable at best.

In my mind, the best part of this hotel was the location. The hotel is located close to the highway, with easy access to Assisi and Perugia. Within easy walking distance is the town of Santa Maria degli Angeli, including a lively town square with an assortment of shops, restaurants, and gelato shops. Also there is the beautiful basilica, a massive church built around a tiny old wooden church where St. Francis originally vowed poverty and started his religious vocation. Also very close to the hotel are some solid restaurants and a large grocery store. In particular there's a very good pizza place right across the main road from the hotel.

Another nice touch is that the lobby of the hotel resembles more a living room, with large couches and comfy chairs grouped around a pair of coffee tables. It made visiting with other members of the group relaxing and enjoyable.

Based on this stay, if I were to find myself in this area again, I would consider staying at this hotel again.

Reading all the wonderful reviews of this hotel, I wonder whether we are speaking about the same place. We stayed there for one night only in June 2015. The hotel is clean, modern and neat as are the rooms. The only staff we saw were those on the front desk. They did their job efficiently but offered no help or assistance at all. On the occasion when we asked for help the manager could speak no English. We were in Italy for 2 weeks and this was by far the worst hotel. The breakfast was sparse (even by European standards) and the room was hot and stuffy as the air-conditioner was pumping out hot air. The curtains were hung in such a way that the windows could not open properly. We had to wedge them open to get some fresh air.

Beautiful location for visiting Assisi and Santa Maria degli Angeli. Strategic base for exploring the country side of Umbria. Silent, good restaurant and amazing breakfast. Paolo, the Director, has a lot of life stories and adventures to share. I recommend this place for knowing Italy, the Italian culture and hospitality.

A rare gem in Assisi :))

We enjoyed this hotel. We were appointed a room on the ground floor and it was good. Our friends unfortunately were given top floor room when we saw their room our heads hit the ceiling, it was an attic!!

I loved this hotel as it was on the foot of the hiils in Assisi perfect location . At night we could go to local eateries and have drinks at local bar and just walk back to hotel at night.

We stayed there for 4 nights and it was a fantastic experience: service was great, clean rooms, and nice brekkie too.
