The worst hotel in my life ! On a internet photos looks great but in reality it was terrifying and very disgusting place, bathroom without towels and bed with old dirty blankets in the wardrobe...
No one goes there!
A cheap choice for one night stay in Lisbon!

The place of the Hotel is near the Metro station and the rooms are clean, but they are too small. The staff is polite, the breakfast is not enough even for a 2 stars Hotel and the whole Hotel is in the 2nd floor. A good and a cheap choice for 1-2 nights stay.
a place to stay in Lisbon for a city break due to very good location to airport and city center

It's the first time I'm seeing a "hotel" consisting of rooms on only one floor of a common building ; it is on the second floor of the building at number 6 on the right side of the street when coming from the Arreiro metro station which is very near in the Praca Francesco Sa Carneiro; in fact this kind of lodgings are called in Portugal "residential" and on the wall of the building there still is the old logo of Residencial Estoril;a strange association bearing in mind that Estoril is the pure embodiment of style and luxury...anyway,the house number is important as there is no big logo just a small plate on the right side at the entrance with Afrin Hotels; the easiest and cheapest way to arrive there is by metro which for the first ride costs 1,95 Euro as you have to by the reusable card for 0.50 Eurocents; it is the red line from the airport until Alameda station, the ninth from the airport ,then switch to the green line for Arreiro station and there you are ; it is really easy and fast ; at the entrance there is a button to push and the door opens,it is a heavy wooden entrance door for which you got to have some power to push it open; there are two small and old but interesting elevators with the classical inner door which closes like a harmonica and the elevator doesn't start before this door is pulled to the right ; the one elevator is on the right side of the entrance and stops inside the hotel and the other is just left around the corner and stops outside the entrance on the second floor ; we were greeted by a very friendly young man called Ali who welcomed us and gave us the room ; the impression is that of a decent place but run down; I asked for a room on the inside not to the street as I read on TripAdvisor that the rooms to the street would be noisy;it was a good choice as the Avenida Joao XXI is an important boulevard of the city with a lot of traffic; the room is basic,in fact two stars with a twin bed with very good matrasses,a closet,a tv and a kind of chair for the luggage ; there is no refrigerator and no A/C but you barely need one unless it is hot in mid summer;the bathroom is big and looks good at the first sight but due to the run down state there might unpleasant surprises especially with the water; in our room the shower leaked heavily and after the first shower next morning, the bathroom was full of water; it's then I understood why the hot water at the sink was turned off as probably it was heavily leaking; normally a room in such a status can't be given to guests even if they paid a smaller amount for one night; anyway ,after my complaint ,the same nice Ali gave us another room where everything was ok; by the way ,the bathroom has a big window which is nice for fresh air and a good ventilation; the hotel has no lobby, one enters directly in a kind of breakfast lounge and there are also some sofas and sitting facilities on one side of the room ; otherwise it is used only for breakfast and for the Internet as in this place the wifi is very good ; we also had relatively good wifi in the first too. With the broken bathroom but almost nonexistent in the second room; as to the breakfast ,it is the same every morning and consists of following ; one type of flakes ,cold milk in a mug, very good bread, butter, two kinds of juices, tea, one kind of ham and one kind of cheese, cocoa and hot coffee and hot milk in thermoses; coffee was not outstanding but drinkable and you could drink as much as you wanted;I anyway upgraded it with a shot of instant coffee which I brought from home; as there where no pastries and no jam ,I replaced it with hot milk every morning; in a word ,you get what you pay for but considering that it is almost in the center of Lisbon ,it is fair value for money; on the first day we even walked down Avenida Almirante Reis and in about an hour we arrived in the heart of the city in the Praca do Commercio; people at the hotel do their best to be friendly and to make you forget about the minuses; right on the opposite side of the street there is an Auchan supermarket, and on the same side with the hotel there are two small cafes with soup, sandwiches, salads, pastel de nata (the traditional Portuguese pastry) and very good and cheap coffee; by the way,in Portugal coffee tastes very good and is cheap compared to other Western European countries; right nearby in the Francesco Alvalade square there is a place named "A Cidade" where each day there is a complete meal (soup and second course for 6.20 Euro) but also other items to eat and cheap beer ; I recommend the half liter Heineken draft for 2.5 Euro ! All in all I would return to this place for another citybreak but knowing far better now what to request on arrival ; one more special thanks to Ali who really tried to make our stay there pleasant !
A good experience

Nice hotel in an old building. Took me some time to find it. Very good location, with plenty of transport, including underground to the airport. It's situated in a building, where's there's also private houses, so, youll have to use the stairs or lift to go to the reception, or you can bipass it and go straight to your room, whitch i loved. Very friendly and helpful staff, didn't have a firidge in my room and they provided me with one. Wi-fi, not the best, had to use the comunal area for it, nice continental breakfast. Liked my room, the toilet was good as well, nice and clean. my number one place of stay whenever I go to Lisbon now. It's a budget hotel, so don't go expecting big things, you'll get what you pay for. what i got, was what I was expecting, and I was happy in the end.
Shabby old hotel

The place was clean but there were several problems. The breakfast was the same every day with the best things really slowly refilled. There were signs of serious water damage on the ceiling, mold in some places and on the last two day there was no hot water due to some boiler failure. Wi-fi is unstable in the room.
Wouldn't advise it for the winder period.
