This was my 2nd hotel in Catania, and an improvement over my first stay, which was not too far away. It's on the main street, but it is quiet, and close to several restaurants, shopping and major attractions. The breakfast area is a lovely terrace, which overlooks the Bellini Gardens. Room was a good size and the modern bathroom was clean. A good choice for a 2-3 night stay.

We stayed here in July. The area is perfect for shopping,eating,walking. The street has motorcar access to only residents,so is great for walking around. Beautiful gardens next door. Our room was seriously tiny. Thank goodness we only had 2 cases,because a 3rd wouldn't have fitted in the room.! Very old building with a lift that only stopped at certain floors,but I would stay there again because of the good value and position

Checked in very late at night and Gianni was very helpful. He helped us find a free parking spot down the street while he took our luggage up to our room. Hotel looks like an old mansion and every room has a different look. Ceilings are very high and ornate. Bathrooms are very clean and newly renovated. Hallways seem a little old with worn out carpets but we were very comfortable in our room. Location is fantastic! Right in city center next door to Bellini Park and beautiful buildings and shopping. Only stayed one night as a stopover for the airport. Breakfast was plentiful and wonderful with seating outside in the back yard tables. Great comfort and location for a very reasonable price.

We stayed at Hotel Agathae one night when we arrived, and last night before we left. Very good location, we walked everywhere, took a public bus the station. Our room was clean and comfortable, but was on the street side. we didn't hear it first night but second night was noisy, may be it was the weekend! back rooms might be quite. the staff is very friendly, and halpful, good breakfast. Recomended.

This is a nice hotel in a great location.
Ideal to walk to the historic sites of Catania.
The rooms are clean and the staff on the 24 hour reception are helpful and friendly.
There is a lovely terrace overlooking the park to eat breakfast on.
The outside is old and shabby but do not be put off by this.
I would be wary of staying here if you have mobility issues as there are lots of stairs both to gain access to and inside the hotel.
Our room overlooking the park was very noisy from traffic and loud music from a local bar until the early hours of the morning.
When we complained the staff quickly moved us to another room without question. This leads me to believe that they are aware that some of the rooms are noisy.
If you want to be in the heart of Catania this is a good place to stay.
If you want peace and quiet I would look elsewhere.
