What People are saying
Declining throughout the years

I have been staying at this hotel every year for the past 5 years. I have seen it deteriorating every years. What a shame. Because its in a perfect location right in the middle of Santiago, D.R.
The check in process is very good and easy. There is a gentleman there who is a doorman named Jose. He is very helpful and can direct you too anywhere you would like to go. Two thumbs up for him.
I arrived to the room which appeared nice a cozy. It had a 80's television set. Which I don't mind too much because I don't watch that much T.V anyway.
But what really got me was one evening I was taking a shower and the water ran out. I was full of soap. Unreal this has never happened to me in any hotel or resort that I have visited. Shm...
Realistically, The only good thing about this hotel anymore is that it is centrally located and the tiles on the floor. If you can find another location do so.
Very decent for the price

I had to stay a few extra days in DR and i spent them in Santiago, i went to this hotel, it was very fine for the price, around 50$USD a night. The hotel itself need to revamp a little but still, for me it was ok, i slept very well, it was very quiet and it did surprised me because this hotel is located in the noisiest street of the city, Calle Del Sol. Even though i didn't go, i was told they were offering free breakfast every morning from 6:30 to 10:30, also WiFi is free and works very well. I recommend this hotel if you ever go to Santiago.

First let me say that I stayed here for a short time a few years ago. They were renovation the inside, specifically the lobby area. Anyway, from what I remembered, they had ok rooms, it felt small and cramped because the small window overlooked the parking lot and not enough light came through. Other than that. it was located in the central of the city which is a positive and they had parking in the back. The price for rooms at the time was reasonable also.
Short stay is ok for central location, owner needs to shape up

The reasoning of me choosing Aloha Sol was the reasonable
price as there really are not too many options in that category
that is centrally located in the city.
That being said, I recommend only a night or two stay as the
street noise is horrible in the rooms. The windows in the room
are so pathetic, one could hear a dog fart from
the street sidewalks the windows are so bad.
The curtains were an eye sore as they were stained.
Not to mention the front lobby sliding
door. By orders from the arrogant owner of the hotel,
the lobby door from the street is open day and night..to SAVE
money to not use an air conditioner. Too cheap to keep the
customer satisfied will long term bring a business down.
I truly feel bad for the staff as they have to work in the
noisy lobby with pollution flowing into the lobby 24/7.
Generally the staff was ok and did their best to what
they have to work with. I could have given a worse
overall rating but they prevented that with their
efforts to satisfy.
The owner of this establishment should be ashamed
of himself, he has plenty of wealth from many
businesses, he is a tight wad that pinches
small pesos to benefit his large bank account.
Sorry folks, I just call it how it is..TRUTH
Overnight stay

Decent hotel for a short stay in Santiago. Close to restaurants and bars, as well as the highway to the airport. Upon check-in, I had an issue with my room and was quickly moved to a better room. I would stay here again.
