What People are saying

Absolutely Disgusting

Cluuuur45 on 01/06/2017 08:34

I stayed here with a friend for 4 nights. The room was vile. Dirt in every corner of the room. The sheets/ towels/ pillows cases were all dirty and had brown stains. Two of the pillow cases even had food smeared across them. the room we stayed in was dark and dingy. Although cheaper than some other locations it still cost 1600 rupees/ night which is a ridiculous price considering the state the room was in but we didn't have many options at the time. They also say they have hot water but this is only available for a short 3 hours during the entire day. During this time is still only works about 30% of the time and only works from the bottom tap. If none of this deters you from booking the room I have not even gotten to the worst part. The hotel manager is a rude, vile, and dangerous man. He was very friendly and helpful until you disagree with him about something or get on his bad side and then he completely loses his temper. We saw and heard him yelling at several different guests throughout our stay. We woke up to his screaming at a guest at 6am once. He was very friendly to us for the first three nights until we had a disagreement over a taxi he booked for us. He screamed at us and refused to have a proper discussion. Even after we left he, followed up into the street to yell at us some more. Not only should you never yell at a customer you certainly shouldn't for any reason be raising your voice to a woman. We felt extremely uncomfortable after that. I didn't sleep that night because I thought it was a possibility he would come break out door down. I really think he is capable of hurting someone and I truly believe that it is a dangerous place to stay for women travelling alone or any family with children. This man should not be dealing with customers, he loses his temper easily and then becomes very scary and I believe he is capable of assault. There are many reasons not to stay here but your safety and the safety of those travelling with you is number one. Please book anywhere else.

*** Tripadvisor I truly believe if you do not publish this review, you are putting women travelling alone in danger. This is an important review.

Good Hotel

Lalit S on 01/06/2017 07:47

Location is excellent. Rooms are good. Hot water is time limited. Wifi only on reception floor. Could hv been extended to other floors via router. Restaurant has Thali system offer decent home type food. Very limited choice. All vegetarian only.
Worst part is that room service charge is additional 20% and delivery to room is horribly slow. A cup of morning tea could take more than an hour despite several reminders. Customer grievances response is also not good and behaviour of staff is a bit arrogant. This may be due to long waiting queue outside hotel during rush season. I saw several customers shouting desperately at the counter.
Overall satisfied given the huge rush for rooms in the busy summer season.
Advice is to book rooms well in advance.

Okay for a Lay over or transit

Well quite centrally located though not professional and bereft of polite attitude right from staff to owner. The food in the restaurant is a bit overpriced and the rooms stink a bit but you can overlook these shortcomings as you need to start early the next day to start your sight seeing sojourn from sun rise itself.

Best among the price range

The rooms are spacious, but not carpeted. Rooms are equipped with LCD to, and electric kettle. Bathrooms are clean and time to time hot running water available. Room heaters are available upon request. The owner and staffs are very cordial and helpful. Decent veg food available at its own restaurant. Overall pleasant experience.

Nice hotel with a superb view

Md. Najmus S on 20/02/2017 03:39

We (me and my wife) arrived at Darjeeling on Feb 13, 2017 and boarded on the hotel. We had a hill view room. The rooms are not 100% luxurious (hot water service is time limited) but the view we enjoyed in the daytime was simply outstanding. One can see the mount Kanchenjunga from the room if the weather is clear. But u have to pick the mountain view side rooms (rooms on the left side of the corridor). Hotel stuffs are friendly and nice. Food was really delicious. Overall, a good hotel to stay if u are staying for a natural viewing purpose.
