We visit this hotel now since a few years, and each year we are happy we do so. Perfect place to stay (friendly village, lots of places to spend for a drink or dinner), and with an (advisable) rental car many options are available (beach, villages, walks). Look at my previous reviews This years' review, special attention goes to the restaurant of the hotel, where you can have a lunch, appetiser or a full dinner. The quality of the food is marvellous, well presented, and the service is with a smile, where special requests of guests are always considered. An impression can be found in the attached photos.

We stayed here as a family and if a hotel style is your thing then this place is perfect.the pool is good,you get a really good breakfast and the staff are very happy and helpful.its 100 mts from the village centre,which is so cool that it was tough to leave.hotel has a good bar and is very clean.we had room 205 which comes with a great view and is very spacious.loved san pan! Be sure to check out the beaches nearby rene bianca and principe are two particular stunners.avoid porto cervo-soul less money pit.

We stayed here for 2 weeks to explore the north of Sardinia. First of all, the hotel is located in a small, but very charming village where we enjoyed staying. You can easily walk to a couple of restaurants that are in the village and where you can have a nice dinner. Sometimes during the week, there was an evening market and a very good wine bar and also a nice coffee place next to it. The hotel complex is very charming too, it consists of a lot of stairs so maybe not the best for wheel chairs (I'm not sure if they have a separate entrance without stairs) but it makes it feel less like an hotel, but more of a relaxing home with a nice pool. The hotel was quiet during the day and the view from the pool is wonderful. I would recommend hiring a car to explore the many beautiful beaches not far from the hotel (Cappricioli was our favorite). We only had breakfast here and it was very good. You had everything you wanted and you can ask for a nice Italian coffee or cappuccino. Rooms were simple and clean with a good practical bathroom. The room was cleaned every day. There is also a phone in the room but note that your phone calls will be charged because we called to restaurants for reservations on several occasions and we had to pay for it and it wasn't so cheap.. nevertheless Sardinia is never Overall, a good hotel to stay with a great location to explore the north of the island. I would recommend it!

A small hotel where we really felt welcome from the moment we arrived. We received great service. It is set up like a small village with narrow streets and stairs, spread out over four different levels. All the rooms are to be accessed from the outside. This really adds something special. Breakfast is simple but good. They offer some good food and drinks as well Great wines and cocktails, maybe a bit expensive, but the can get away with it in this beautifull setting. The location is absolutely perfect! You can see the entire Esmeralda coast area within a 20 minute drive from here. The village is nice and quiet, but still offers nice boutiques and some decent restaurants. The only point of improvement is the current state of the swimming pool. I would recommend some maintenance on it. We will visit this hotel again when being in Sardinia.

Small hotel in the mountains

Situated in the mountains over Costa Smeralda, Hotel Arathena offers spectacular views from most of the rooms. Our beautifully and locally decorated room was on the very top of the hotel with a tiny balcony.
Hotel offers a small pool which we used to cool off in the evenings.
Please note that, since the hotel is build at the slope of a mountain there are a lot of stairs.
