I used to love this place.good food,good rooms etc.But recently i had a very bad experience.A classic example of over enthusiastic moral policing.Me and my wife reached the hotel at 8:30 pm and enquired abot rooms.The very arrogant receptionist(one tall fellow with a beard) asked for our marriage certificate.we have showed him our election election id cards which clearly says the husbands name and have our photos in it.He had already jumped into some annoying conclusions and said he wll not give rooms untill we show our certificates.I told him we are doctors and even
showed them the photos of our convecation we have attended togther the same day.But still he refused to provide rooms.
So kindly avoid this hotel as far as possible,especially if you are travelling with ur wife,daughter or mother.And dont even think about goin there with ur girl friend.They wll probably lock u up and hand u over to the police.

Was not expecting much since this being a small city and the hotel name was unknown. But this breached my expectations and cleared my misconceptions about this one. The hotel is easily 4-star having huge reception and waiting area, swimming pool, bar, spa, restaurant, etc. everything that one can have. One of the best things about this hotel that even many 5-star or 7-star hotels don't have- HUGE, and i mean really HUUGE rooms. We were given a room for 2 that could easily accomodate 3 more ppl laying extra beds. Heck we can even play cricket in the room, such was the space inside. The beds and bath were neatly done. Only issue was the AC, which was very old and not effective in cooling such a spacious room. The view from the swimming pool was superb n you can see almost the entire city from there. The location was good too, this being on a main road having many different shops, bakery, restaurants, vegetable vendors, big malls like Seematty and Kalyan at walking distance. If in Kottayam, this is the one to go for.

Very good hotel for family and friends. Nice food and very good quality. Buffet is available at reasonable prices and very nice food. Ample parking facility too available. staff is also very supportive.

Arcadia hotel ,Kottayam

I had an overnight stay at the Arcadia,the rooms ,n bath were clean.Though the hotel is one the oldest in Kottayam the interiors have been renovated,the breakfast buffet n lunch buffet were average with some traditional kerela delicacies,the staff were courteous n helpful.I required a cab for the entire day which they promptly arranged at my own cost,I've rated them very good considering ,Kottayam is a tier 2 city the hotel pretty much keeps up with that.

Only Location is advantage

Hotel meets to only necessity. Luxury is out of question. Staff tries to fill the gap with cheesy smile . Breakfast menu is better for starving people.
Probably Kitchen was under renovation.
Room dining has little choice. Probably hotel has accepted that the guests would prefer to go outside restaurant for dining.
Rooms are spacious but looks dull.
The centre location is big advantage.
