What People are saying

Expensive minimalist offer.

LlanVallson 23/06/2016 22:20

Excellent restaurant, nevertheless I would rate it a 3 stars hotel. It's not delivering the features of a 4 star, highly priced for the features. Minimal TV of 17 inches hanging on a corner, minimal bathroom goodies - just a shower cap and cotton swabs, shampoo delivered in form of a large container inside the shower, typical of a 2 stars hotel. Huge balcony with 1 small chair for a couple??, resuming, it lacks comfort.

Poor value for money

Seen from the outside probably it is one of the most beautiful hotel in aprica. The room is all made out of wood and comfortable. Having said that, the restaurant was disappointing (we had high expectations since it has been awarded one michelin star). The menu was very easy, somehow banal. Breakfast could be improved too and it starts too late (7.45). The skii room is nice but the garage was really messy. To sum up, the hotel is overall nice but it is overpriced for what it offers.

Nice hotel in an hugly village

Unfirtunately the town is run down looks quite abandoned ,so also this nice hotel suffers from crisis .Only the balconies in the front had flowers ,the fridge and the telephone in the nice rooms were not working as something that probably once was air conditioning .All this plus the absolute emptiness on an hot day in July made the atmosphere quite sad.where are the tourists gone? Probably ,and we hope for the lovely owner ,they will come in winter .....nice warm decorations all wood and old mountain posters and photos .Very beautiful the restaurant .

Do not waste your time & money staying here

Our experience of staying in this hotel for two nights was like a sketch from the comedy 'Faulty Towers'. The comedy of errors on behalf of the management and staff (only three people all up that interacted with us) was disgraceful. We were charged 280 euro each night for breakfast and dinner for two people so this was by no means 'cheap'.
The room was clean ...... and that's where it stops. No light bulbs (globes) in many of the lights, the TV connection was faulty, the power in the room would flick off for no reason and you couldn't swing a cat in the shower even though the bathroom was big. This hotel had no soul even though you can tell that money was spent on the original build. If you like wood panelling, you have won the lottery.
All of the above items are ok if the service and food is good but this was where i felt we were taken advantage of. On the first night, a very large golden retriever dog joined us in our so called 'Michelin Star' rated restaurant. With his lovely big wet nose, he walked through the restaurant with his owners to an area of the restaurant for some 'R&R'over a cheese fondant and a glass of red!!!
We had to repeatedly as for butter, salt, spoons, glasses. The description on the menu was like shooting in the dark of what you might actually get on your plate. My husband ordered 'pork shank' to be served a lamb shank. The food was really a miss and i even left food on the plate it was that bad not that there was much anyhow.

The breakfast 'buffet' was a disgrace. Breakfast is not difficult to get wrong but they did it in style. Breakfast was served at 7.45 and by the time we got there what little food was served, there was practically nothing left. We were told 'That's it!' As no additional food came from the kitchen. Myself and my husband had one croissant each..... no more croissants either.
No eggs, no other bread, no cheeses, no hot chocolate, we had to repeatedly ask for milk... the clamities were endless.

I feel very angered that we were charged so much money for a sub standard service where the staff attitude was unbelievable. The little food that was served was a disgrace and these guys should not be operating under a 4 star banner. If you want to attract overseas guests then don't take advantage and provide the service you offer. At the very least keep your guests watered and fed and everyone will be happy. Please stop scrimping and cheating your guests out of a service you should be providing under a 4 star rating.

Really nice hotel.

We stayed here for our ski break in March and were very happy. Its just off the main road through town and is also only a short walk to the ski slopes. The rooms are modern and clean, the parking is easy, and the ski lockers in the carpark are very handy. We ate in Gimmys on our 2nd night here and the food was great too. all in all a great hotel, we'll be back for 2015 :o)
