Clean, friendly budget hotel along a major highway at the edge of Aurillac. We needed a family room for 4 and were given a room for 5 with a mezzanine. Despite the hotel being fully booked and its proximity to the highway, it was quiet at night. The rooms at the back of the hotel have a view of Salers cows grazing.
We purchased the breakfast buffet and were very satisfied with the choices of salty and sweet.
The staff was pleasant and pointed us to a good nearby restaurant with solid local cuisine.
The room was simply appointed (no in-room fridge or microwave, no individual toiletries). We had individual heating and A/C on both room levels. The bedding was good.
Highly recommended.

Hotel Aurena is located inconveniently about 3 km from centre of Aurillac, a lovely town in middle of beautiful Auverne region of France. Hotel should be 3* not 2*. Clean, very cheap. Very pleasant staff.

I can confirm a lot of the previous comments (mostly in french)... friendly. Simple. Clean (looked like it had been recently renovated) good value. Only slightly surprising thing was that in a region known as being regularly cold (and it was snowing) the heating didn't seem to get higher than 18c then for a while 21c. I hate overly heated rooms but this seemed odd. No restaurant so a short drive to town or the oriental buffet just up the road.

My husband and I stayed here last week along with several other delegates attending a conference in Aurillac. The Director of the conference had recommended and made the booking for us. The hotel is light, airy and above all spotlessly clean. The room was simply furnished, the shower room simply appointed and was literally all we needed for a two night stay. It is on the edge of Aurillac and you do need a car to get to the city centre but on the plus side there is ample car parking. Our dog came too as she ever does and she was welcomed. Breakfast was an excellent buffet with plenty of choice but not overloaded. All the staff we encountered were charming and professional. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Aurillac as it represents extraordinary value for money and above all things is spotlessly clean.

This was one of the cheapest hotels we stayed at during a 6 week trip to France and were not sure what to expect. It was extremely good value. Modern, basic, spotlessly clean rooms, child friendly play area in large spacious common lounge/dining area. No lift but wide staircase and only 1 upper level. Staff spoke enough English to assist us. We would recommend this hotel to other travellers who just require a good bed and clean room in a quiet area.
