Magical evening

We chose our 40 th Anniversary to stay at this beautiful hotel..... it is an oasis in the middle of the city of Los Angeles....... the hotel and its pristine gardens is trust a wonderful experience..... upon arrival we were greeted so very warmly. A beautiful lobby with a huge fireplace stands in the middle ... the check in was swift and welcoming. The concierge directly adjacent to the check in desk was so perfect to plan our stay.... BIRTHDAY and anniversary we were upgraded to a beautifully newly decorated room with a large patio... the gorgeous room had every luxury and heated tiled floors. I was gifted champagne and a delicious birthday cake with two hand written cards with well wishes... we wanted to eat at the hotels restaurant. The world renowned Wolfgang Puck...... the meal was superb... salads fish veal and homemade handmade two s'mores ice cream bars. Heavenly evening. Waking around the beautiful gardens and watching the doves swimming....all buildings are a lovely pink. The swimming pool is perfect with a big blow up swan swimming around..... this is a FIRST CLASS HOTEL. One of the best ever....

My husband and I celebrated our one year anniversary here after staying at the sister property The Beverly Hills Hotel last year. These hotels complement each other as The Beverly Hills is the exuberant and lively one, the Bel Air is the quiet and serene counterpart. The moment you arrive and cross the bridge to the lobby you are in a rarified world of calm and luxury with lush plants, an intimate welcoming lobby with couches you can sink into and a great center fireplace. Our junior pool suite was simply perfect as some pool suites had iron fencing and felt less private our space was enclosed with a tall wooden fence. We had to enter our suite via a tall wood gate into a private patio area with a table, chairs and a chaise from here you then could open the door to the actual suite with its own entry way and huge open living and bedroom space overlooking your private courtyard.

The room amenities were terrific with two Bang and Olufsen televisions, one which rose out from a dresser at the foot of our bed. An iPad provided us with the current weather and allowed us to control the lights, television, order room service or any thing else that we needed. The air conditioning was whisper quiet and the bathroom was luxurious with heated floors and terrific bath amenities from Ann Semonin. Every morning we enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant with some of the best pancakes ever, french press coffee and excellent service. However, our favorite was the bar which we started and ended each night out with a drink. They make the best Vodka Gibsons all served by an attentive staff and great nightly entertainment.

Its really the service that sets this hotel apart and Dawn at the concierge desk is simply amazing. She saved a friend from losing an earring but finding a spare earring back in her drawer of tricks and when the hotel car was not available to take us to our restaurant that evening she insisted that she summon a cab and have the hotel cover the charge. Simply wow!

While we were impressed with The Beverly Hills Hotel our hearts are now with The Bel Air for its charm and genuine care of their guests. Bravo!

Discreet LA experience

The Hotel Bel-Air is an oasis in the city of Los Angeles. We stay stay in LA once a year and have tried the Beverly Hills Hotel, Peninsula Beverly Hills and the Regent Beverly Wilshire but the Bel-Air is by far the best. We didn't see or hear any other guests except when we went down to the restaurant. Although the hotel was fairly near full occupancy, it maintained a level of discretion and privacy that is hard to find. Also, the setting makes it hard to believe you're within the city of Los Angeles. The lush greenery and high walled gardens are beautiful and calming. We stayed in the new Canyon Suites. This is the way to go. Very chic with large private terraces with outdoor fireplaces and plunge pools. Whereas most of the hotel is on the canyon floor, these new rooms are actually built into the mountainside and the higher up you go the better your views and higher your privacy level. There are glass nano doors that open all the way up creating a true bridge to the outdoors. And of course, the service was impeccable all around.

Great historic hotel

The Hotel Bel Air is a wonderful historic landmark. If you can stay, do it. It not, pop in for lunch, drinks or dinner and imagine the rich Hollywood history that has graced the hotel for decades. Service is great and the ambiance is lovely. You might even spot a celebrity or two while you’re there.

enchanting

I recently stayed at The Belair Hotel in Los Angeles and had a wonderful stay. The hotel is secluded in an enchanted garden. The room I stayed in was full of surprising amenities! The staff was exceptional. I can’t wait to return to this hotel for some r&r!
