Had booked the Cristallo which is extremely convenient at the beginning of January but just a few days before the holiday they called to say they were moving us to Belvedere. The Belvedere is extremely incovenient and we were very upset. As they are under the same management one suspects sharp practice - do they overbook the Cristallo in order to fill the Belvedere? Would never recommend. To get to restaurants in the evening we had to walk up an unlit main road jumping for safety every time a car came along.

Fabulous time cared for by Daniele, Vincenzo and the lovely staff at The Belvedere

Just had the best half term ever at The Belvedere looked after by the lovely team there. We were a large party that took over the hotel completely and we had a fantastic time. The food at the hotel is delicious (dinner was gorgeous every night) and we had wonderful wine and great camaraderie from all the team at The Belvedere. Daniele makes it all look effortless and nothing is too much to ask for. Vincenzo was so charming while serving the beers, and the lovely maintenance guy/shuttle bus driver turned up the Justin Bieber on the radio for our rides home. Can someone send the recipe for the buckwheat salad?? Best half term holiday ever. The weather was stunning, the skiing was fab, and the company wasn't bad either. Mille grazzie from the best table of the week. Diolch!!

Overall decent with a few small issues

5 of us stayed here for a long weekend. The apartment was a good size and the shower was hot. The location is a little bit far out but there are regular buses run by the hotel throughout the day until 6pm which is early, it takes around 20 minutes to walk up to the main square. It would serve the hotel better to run a bus at 7-7.30 so people can go into town after dinner.
The staff are friendly enough, although the bar was slow one night and I would recommend going for beeakfast early, they ran out of food when we went about 9.20am.
They offer afternoon tea each day and have spa facilities that you can use whether staying in the hotel or apartments. My biggest issue was that in a 2 bed apartment there was only one mirror in the bathroom...definately designed for a man. I would stay here again if It was a short stay, anything longer I would want to be closer to the resort.

Friendly hotel in Sestriere

Just returned from staying at the Hotel Belvedere for a weeks skiing.
The hotel was very comfortable but you do have a 15 min walk into town. However, the hotel does provide a very good ski bus service which makes the journey in 2 minutes.
Rooms are comfortable and kept clean. Food on the whole is what you would expect, buffet followed by preselected courses. The only downside to the buffet is that it gets decimated within 5 minutes. I'm not saying that everyone did this but there was a group from Poland and Russia who took it upon themselves to eat as much as they could. I do believe that the hotel management could have managed this better. Breakfast was the same as many took advantage and packed bags for lunch etc.
Personally I would of liked to see the hotel focus on traditional dishes rather than try to impress with presentation.
But as mentioned earlier the food was good, but not excellent.
If you can put up with some of the issues as I have mentioned then I am sure you will have a great stay.
But by far the key asset of this hotel is the staff, without them the hotel would not score as high.

Wonderful hotel

We stayed last week as a group of 5. Everything was great. Huge rooms, nice spa, fantastic food but most of all the staff were amazing. The staff in the restaurant work really hard. They are professional but also have a great sense of humour.
Reception staff and shuttle bus driver the same.
The hotel is definitely a great find.
I highly recommend for a ski holiday. The shuttle is very efficient so being on the edge of the resort is not an issue.
Thanks Belvedere!
