A Lovely Hotel, just outside Todi but within easy walking distance.
LizbetLondonon 10/04/2017 19:20The hotel was built from the ruins of a Franciscan monastery in the 70s and has been run by the same family ever since. The room we stayed in had beautiful views from every window, even the one in the bathroom. The bed was perfect, king-sized and really comfy.
Breakfast was a delight, so many different choices.
We had dinner there one evening and the food was really something special. We loved the ravioli with pumpkin and cinnamon.
We also had great, and generous cocktails, that were very reasonably priced.
The service was excellent and the staff super friendly and welcoming.
The hotel is just down the road from Santa Maria della Consolazione and quite an easy walk into the center, albeit uphill.
The only couple of things that could be improved: we had a jacuzzi bathtub but the shower attachment could not be attached to the wall and the water pressure was low; the hairdryer was pretty low powered and it would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Notwithstanding it really is a wonderful place to stay and we would go back.
A Highlight of Our Trip to Umbria
tmlacaon 02/10/2016 11:09This past September we stayed at the Hotel Bramante and could not be more happy with our stay. We arrived at night and when we opened the curtains in the morning we were blown away with the beautiful view outside of our arched window in our room. It was a panoramic view of the massive valley below the medieval village of Todi. The big stone building is hundreds of years old and straight out of a post card. The staff was very warm and helpful. The breakfast featured meats, breads, juices, yogurt, cereals, coffee and over 5 different cakes to choose from. We spent much of the morning walking around taking pictures of the hotel, the grounds and the view. Our stay at the Bramante Hotel was a highlight of our trip to Umbria.
Picture-perfect elegant athmosphere and super, super, super food!
chipuon 08/09/2016 00:58I almost do not find words to describe how enthusiastic I am about the Hotel Bramante.
Firstly, the view of the valley and sunsets from the room with balcony, as well as from the terrace where meals are served, is absolutely breathtaking. Secondly, the gourmet dinner meal is something so special, that you look forward to it for the entire day! MasterChef Aldo is simply a genius. Each and every single dish I had at the hotel Bramante was hands-down stellar! In particular, the evening with the barbecue served close to the swimming pool has been one of the most memorable moments of my entire life. (For fairness, I need to mention that, while breakfast was very good and offered interesting home-made pies and great cuts of cured meats, overall was not as impressive as the dinner meals).
The decor and design of the facility are elegant, tasteful and refined, in perfect harmony with the surrounding beauty of the landscape. (Only suggestion I have is to add some window screens to avoid bugs getting into the room). The personnel is always courteous and attentive to details. The swimming pool and tennis court are the right entertainment for those lazy moments that you do not spend exploring the infinitely beautiful Umbria region, and there is even a SPA facility if you feel you want a massage.
Overall, the atmosphere is fun and tranquil at the same time, as the hotel wisely hosts just the right amount of people to provide a lively, but not loud and/or overcrowded atmosphere. And what a deal too! We paid only 90 euros per day per person, including a great room with view, breakfast and dinner. What else to ask? The dinner alone is worth such amount of money!!
I would recommend this place to anyone who is interested to experience the magic of the bella vita in the bel paese, off the beaten path!
Nice Hotel-stuffy rooms
Leslie Non 02/09/2016 22:45The decor and overall vibe of Hotel Bramante is elegant and welcoming. Our dinner in the restaurant was delicious with lovely views overlooking the grounds. Our concierge gave us great information about the town and how to navigate the local festivities that weekend.
Our one complaint was the rooms -- very small, bordering on claustrophobic, and an air-conditioning system that didn't really cool the rooms, rather more like a fan that blew hot air around.
The pool and the clientele made up for it--if you stay in the summer months just plan to spend all your time visiting the charming town of Todi or relax poolside then have a long, leisurely dinner at the restaurant.
very nice restaurant, great panoramic view
gauthier von 12/08/2016 17:48we stopped at the Bramante restaurant for lunch after a visit to Todi. Very nice staff, and the food was really great. In fairness, it took some time till we got our plates, but the magnificent view from the lunch terrace made up for the waiting.
