I only had the pleasure of staying at Burchianti for one night, as I was based in Rome for the majority of my vacation and was only in Florence to do a photography tour. The hotel Is well situated - very close to the train station, the Medici Chapel, Santa Maria Novella and the leather market. Other sights are merely a few more minutes walking distance. The hotel is on the second floor of what appears to be a palazzo. You ring the doorbell downstairs to be buzzed in, then you walk to reception on the second floor. The lobby is attractive and comfortable. I believe there are only six rooms. Mine was a single room, but was surprisingly spacious. There was a flat screen TV, a nice enclosed shower, blow dryer, toiletries and even slippers. I slept well; I didn't hear any sounds from the street, though you can hear sounds from other guests in the hotel itself. A breakfast buffet is included in the rate and it was quite good. There were fruits, cereals, cakes and other pastries, cold cuts, cheeses, breads, juices, coffee and tea. The staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful, particularly Sofia. She provided me with a map, noted the hotel's location and the closest sights, recommended restaurants for local Florentine/Tuscan cuisine, loaned me an umbrella when it began raining unexpectedly and suggested two shoe stores when I needed to buy some canvas shoes. I loved the ambience of the hotel and felt completely at home, largely due to the excellent staff. I hope to return to Florence and stay again in the very near future.

What an unique gem in all places in Italy we really enjoyed staying at this beautiful hotel. From the room, through care of host, to the morning delicious breakfast; everything was perfect. Recommended for couples, amazing place to stay and relax.

I stayed here for the first time in august 2017. My single room was small, but cosy, very clean, and had it's own balcony! The staff is so friendly and helpful. It is literally minutes away from the station, the Duomo and all the major sights. Will definitely be back. Thank you!

Stayed here at the recommendation of a friend. Turned out to be a great recommendation. Hotels in Florence are notoriously expensive. Summer 2017 has seen rising hotel costs based on demand from tourist.. lots of them. The Burchianti is a very well priced 6 room hotel in a former mansion converted into hotel rooms. The hotel is in a safe and quaint neighborhood that's mere steps from the duomo and other famous attractions.
Room had a nice big bed and a daybed for the three of us (2 adults and a kid).. amazing frescos on very tall ceilings. Very nice and clean bathroom with very well appointed fixtures. You can tell that Mario and his team care greatly to make sure the historic nature of the hotel stays intact.. we commend them for doing this. Water pressure in the shower was amazing. Bathroom included a toilet and a bidet.
Breakfast was included in our rate and included many selections of fruit, cakes, and pastries as well as coffee, yoghurts, and selections of breads and meats. Cappuccino and latte were also available on request and were made with a traditional espresso machine in the classic tradition of coffee in Italy.
We liked that the key for the room was left at the front desk when we departed the hotel
For the day. No worries that we would loose the key on our many walks around Florence.
Overall this is a solid choice when you're visiting Florence. I would stay here again the next time I'm in Florence.
Tip: the front desk can give you good recommendations for restaurants that serve locals and not the tourists. Take them up on their advice and. It's that you may have to cross the Rialto bridge to get to one of them. You won't be disappointed with their recommendation.

within walking distance of all the old town sites, this hotel is small c 6 rooms, but well appointed and friendly. Breakfast is included with the normal continental fare and taken at a few tables in the reception area. Both restaurants,La Kadia to the left and La Cantinetta over the road are as good as any in Florence and very convenient.
Use the buzzer in the street brass plaque to gain entry via the inner gate and use the lift up the step to the left to the first floor reception
